Are you ready for some football? Well, Below Deck‘s Kate Chastain is and she’s here to tell all about her longtime passion for the game. As one of the hosts of Peacock’s Reality Hot Seat, Kate admits that football feeds her love for all things drama.
“It’s drama, ’cause we’re all looking for something to root for, right? That’s why people love sports. It’s drama, it’s excitement. You know, don’t know how it’s gonna go ’cause it’s real life. And I think that’s the same reason we all like reality TV. I know there are certain [Real] Housewives I’m rooting for during certain seasons,” she shared with The Daily Dish exclusively during BravoCon 2025. “And so it’s really not that different.”
When it comes to rooting for a team, Kate noted that she does “love an underdog” to cheer on during a football game. She noted that the chance to be apart of Peacock’s Reality Hot Seat is “very exciting.” She added, “So when I heard that Peacock and NFL were partnering up to do kind of a football reality TV commentary show, I was so excited.”

Kate went on to note that she’s always been a superfan of all things football for quite some time, in fact. We mean, it’s basically a lifelong relatioship with the game. “So, I’m so excited because I love football. I actually, when I was in 7th Grade, my birthday was on a big bowl game, and my team won. I went through a football phase,” Kate alum said, via NBC Insider.

It all goes down on Sunday, Dec. 7. The event is streaming live exclusively on Peacock and NFL+ beginning at 8 p.m. ET and continuing throughout the entire Houston Texans-Kansas City Chiefs game. Kate went on to add, “And I think it [football] was ’cause it was the original reality TV, right? You don’t know what’s gonna happen, but it’s real life, real stakes. So when I heard that Peacock and NFL were partnering up to do kind of a football reality TV commentary show, I was so excited.”
