Why Lala Kent’s Scared to Return to TV on The Valley: EXCLUSIVE

Lala Kent is packing her bags for The Valley, taking with her the lessons she learned from Vanderpump Rules

The mom of two spoke to The Daily Dish at BravoCon 2025 in Las Vegaswhere she and Tom Schwartz were officially confirmed to join The Valley for its upcoming third season — discussing why she was initially apprehensive about the move.

“Actually, I didn’t know if it felt like a natural next step,” she admitted. “I was very, very concerned about going back onto reality TV after how I left Vanderpump Rules. I had to do a lot of healing during that time, and taking accountability, so I didn’t know if I wanted to be in this line of work.”

Lala has openly discussed her VPR Season 11 regrets (more on those below), and following news of the Season 12 cast overhaul, the Give Them Lala beauty brand founder said she had to weigh the decision of following the likes of Kristen Doute and Brittany Cartwright over to the San Fernando Valley.

“So, when it was actually like, ‘Here’s an actual offer,’ I had to take a moment to say, like, ‘Is this going to be good for me?’” Lala continued. “And it seemed, just like, I love making reality TV. And these are my friends. So, it’s like, of course, you’re going back.”

Lala Kent shares her regrets from Vanderpump Rules Season 11

Lala hasn’t shied from sharing her regrets about the end of Season 11, admitting that she attempted to suppress “foreign emotions” before taking issue with Ariana Madix’s refusal to share the screen with Tom Sandoval. The result, Lala said, “was an explosion” of negative feelings.

In hindsight, “I wish I shut the f–k up,” she said in a Sep. 26 interview with Entertainment Tonight

“It altered friendships, it altered just a very happy place for me,” she continued. “I never experienced that before. It was humbling, but it also felt like karma.”

More than a year and a half has passed since Vanderpump Rules’ Season 11 finale, and Lala has used the time to focus on herself, her family, and her career. And, as she begins a new chapter, she’s already seemingly bonded with “Le groupe” from The Valley, including Michelle Saniei, Janet Caperna, and Jasmine Goode, per a Nov. 4 Instagram post.

Lala Kent’s career update ahead of her return to reality TV

In September, Lala announced that her former Give Them Lala podcast would be rebranded as Untraditionally Lala, the go-to place to learn the latest about the former SUR hostess.

“People are really loving and taking to it,” Lala told The Daily Dish. “I was very nervous, because people don’t like change. I don’t like change. In this case, it was a good change. So make sure you listen and download and subscribe, and do all the things that you do with technology.”

Bravolebs far and wide have joined the audio show, including The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City’s Angie Katsanevas, Southern Charm’s Austen Kroll, and The Real Housewives of Orange County’s Heather Dubrow.
