The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills’ Sutton Stracke is looking to buy a new home in Charleston, and she’s giving The Daily Dish all the exclusive details.
The Georgia-raised Southern Belle said the South Carolina city could be a great place to buy property, primarily because her mom, Reba Brown, and her middle child, 21-year-old Phillip Stracke, live nearby. As she put it, “I keep looking, because you know, my mother’s in Charleston and my son is in school in Charleston, and he wants to graduate school somewhere else, and then he wants to eventually end up in Charleston.”
Phillip, of course, continues his senior year at The Citadel, the Military College of South Carolina. What’s more, Sutton’s youngest, 18-year-old James Stracke, also lives in the state, though a bit further away.
“So, I keep looking at real estate porn for, like, houses on the Isle of Palms, or something like that would be nice,” Sutton said of the nearby coastal town. “I don’t have a beach house, so I think that I’m about due. I’ve always wanted a beach house.”
It doesn’t hurt that fellow Bravolebs from Southern Charm live in Charleston. At the show’s mention, Sutton said, “I love those guys; They’re great.”

In September, Sutton had the chance to visit Phillip at college for parents’ weekend, making a stop at Charleston’s By The Way restaurant. Not only did she meet up with business owners and Southern Charm-ers Craig Conover and Austen Kroll, but Sutton got to catch up with Shep Rose, Whitney Sudler-Smith, and Whitney’s mom, Patricia Altschul.

When detailing her S.C. visit on Instagram, Sutton wrote, “I’m here in my favorite place in the world, Lowcountry of South Carolina, with this beautiful ocean behind me. It’s a very special weekend for my son at his college here. And my family is coming, and my very best friends are coming. I’m looking forward to spending the last few days of summer with all of them.”
Later, Sutton’s eldest, Porter Stracke, joined her mom and grandma as the Housewife celebrated her birthday on the East Coast. “Couldn’t ask for a better birthday with my best friend and my family and friends,” Sutton stated at the time, adding a quote from Pat Conroy’s 1986 novel The Prince of Tides: “To describe our growing up in the Lowcountry of South Carolina, I would have to take you to the marsh on a spring day, flush the great blue heron from its silent occupation, scatter marsh hens as we sink to our knees in mud, open an oyster with a pocketknife, and feed it to you from the shell and say, ‘There. That taste. That’s the taste of my childhood.”
Of course, Sutton has been open about her life as a Converse University alumna in Spartanburg, about 200 miles northwest of Charleston. In fact, Sutton was just “back at the haunt in Spartanburg” to visit James for his freshman year at Wofford College. There, she took in the views of the fall season and later shared them on Instagram.

Sutton recently hung out with her ex-husband, Christian Stracke, as she continues to live with the fallout of their 2016 divorce.

“He lives in London, so I don’t see him on the regular, but he sent our youngest to college, and we spent that weekend together, and we had a really great time,” she spilled to The Daily Dish. “Even after we got him to his dorm, we had drinks by ourselves, just to kind of talk about the future of our children and what we’re gonna do there, and so we’re still very much intertwined and always will be. I think we finally made it to the friendship part of divorce.”
The update came soon after Christian sent word that their marriage had been annulled.
