Before Joe Bradley kissed Kizzi Kitchener on Below Deck Mediterranean, he predicted that there could be some major consequences to giving in to temptation.
After all, Joe had already led Victoria “V” SanJuan to believe that their boatmance might be serious after she took a break to recover from an illness at a Barcelona hotel during Season 10, Episode 12.
Given V’s feelings for Joe, both he and Kizzi declared multiple times throughout the night that they absolutely could not “get with” each other while the deckhand was away.

“It’s like a massive battle between what I want and don’t want,” Joe explained in a confessional. “Like, what I know is wrong and what I know is right.”
Either way, that didn’t slow their heavy flirtations in Bravado‘s hot tub, and Joe eventually locked lips with Kizzi, out of the view of cameras on the vessel’s deck at around 1:45 a.m. They were still mic’ed, however, and the audio of kissing sounds was unmistakable.
“Just don’t speak about it ever,” Kizzi whispered to Joe as they made their way back to their separate sleeping quarters afterward.
Why Joe Bradley called his kiss with Kizzi Kitchener a “mistake”
After the kiss, Joe claimed to both Nathan Gallagher and Max Salvador that he couldn’t remember exactly what happened between him and Kizzi. As he cryptically told Nathan, “But it might cost me.”
When a producer asked Joe what he could recall from the previous night, he similarly said that he remembered “absolutely nothing,” before adding, “Bits and pieces. And what I remember is a blur.”
So, a bit later, Kizzi filled in some of the blanks for him during a group outing to the Alinghi Red Bull Racing headquarters, between charters. After Joe remarked that he couldn’t “afford to hurt Victoria,” the stew replied, “Which is why I think we don’t say anything.”

As Joe put it to a producer, “What the f–k have I done?”
Amid the aftermath, Joe debriefed his mom via FaceTime, explaining to her that he’d “made a mistake” with Kizzi while he was “drunk.” The lead deckhand also became emotional, referencing how V was also dealing with the upcoming anniversary of her late boyfriend’s death in a diving accident.
“I just don’t want to hurt her,” Joe elaborated to his mom, through tears. “I can’t imagine the pain that she’s going through.”
Kizzi Kitchener unpacked the potential fallout from Joe Bradley kissing her
Kizzi, meanwhile, played coy when Chef Josh Bingham asked her to spill the “gossip” on her and Joe, but she confessed to a producer afterward that she intended to deny anything happened, in hopes of keeping V from ever finding out about the kiss.
“If no one knows, no one can tell V, basically,” Kizzi reasoned.
At the same time, that didn’t necessarily mean she would have taken back her and Joe’s kiss, however.
“Here’s the thing: I don’t regret having a kiss with Joe. We’ve had great vibes literally from the day he walked on,” Kizzi added in a confessional. “But I think because this is a sentimental time for V, just to, like, add more fuel to the fire is a really s–tty thing to do.”
Later, when Kizzi filled in Joe that V had texted her to check in on how everything was going on Bravado in her absence, the reality of the situation’s implications grew even more complicated.
“I actually do feel like a really bad person,” Kizzi told Joe, to which he replied, “Yeah, same. I’m gonna tell her.”
Kizzi’s response? “Oh, for f–k’s sake.”
