Given their history on Below Deck Mediterranean, Joe Bradley’s less-than-enthused reaction to Gael Cameron’s return wasn’t entirely unexpected.
In fact, even before Joe learned that Gael would be temporarily filling in for sick deckhand Victoria SanJuan during Season 10, Episode 12, he had already more or less scoffed when Nathan Gallagher mentioned his desire to reconnect with his then-ex after the charter season ended.
Clocking the tone of his fellow yachtie’s comment, Chef Josh Bingham asked what happened between Joe and Gael, and Nathan chimed in to say only, “They had beef, bro,” before returning to his renewed romantic interest in the fellow deckhand he met and fell in love with during Below Deck Season 9.

Later, when bosun Nathan filled in Joe that Gael would be re-joining their team on the next charter, the lead deckhand had more to say on the matter, however.
After initially accusing Nathan of playing a joke on him, Joe added in a confessional, “What the f–k? For the most part of last season, me and Gael, we were a good team, until we started butting heads.”
Inside Joe Bradley and Gael Cameron’s past drama on Below Deck Med
Amidst his comments about the past, a brief montage of Season 9 moments rolled, reminding viewers of some of Joe and Gael’s ups and downs. Amidst rising tensions, one clip showed Joe referring to Gael as a “princess,” while she shot back that he was a “prick.”
Joe’s response? “At least we know where we stand with each other.”
Adding to their conflict, Gael, meanwhile, had also spoken out about her issues with how Joe was navigating his Season 9 love triangle with fellow crew members Elena “Ellie” Dubaich and Bri Muller.

“Joe is being a little bit of a dick,” Gael declared in a confessional, at the time. “He is choosing what he wants when he wants it, without considering how it affects the girls. It’s just not nice anymore, so I’m losing respect for Joe, in that sense.”
Though they sat down to hash out their issues late in the season, Joe’s more recent comments made clear that they never truly moved past the drama.
Even so, he previously referred to the “princess” comment he made about Gael as his “deepest regret” from Season 9, during a September 2024 appearance on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen.
Where Joe Bradley and Gael Cameron stand today
After filming wrapped on Season 10, Joe updated fans on where he and Gael stand today, in an exclusive interview with The Daily Dish — and it appears they made little progress during her brief return.
“So, me and Gael aren’t friends, and such is that,” Joe revealed, before explaining that their prior post-filming “social media war” had “just spiraled into chaos.”
Even so, Joe insisted that he was still open to repairing their friendship, nonetheless, referencing the fact that Gael and Nathan had welcomed their son, Kayden, in June 2025.
“Don’t get me wrong, I’d love to make amends with the girl,” he continued. “I would love to throw any animosity or any melodrama in a bin and start from a fresh page, because there’s more important things in life, like the baby.”
As Joe concluded, “I’m ready to, you know, be the mature one and say, ‘Listen, we don’t need to really be doing this anymore.’ But as I stand from today, we’re not really friends, and that’s okay.”
