Toya Bush-Harris on House Renovations & Buying a New Home

Married to Medicine’s Toya Bush-Harris might already have her dream home in the Atlanta area, but that doesn’t mean her work is finished just yet. In an exclusive interview with The Daily Dish, the mom of two boys shared not only plans for her $3 million-plus custom-built home but also the possibility of buying another home for the family.

How to Watch

Married to Medicine airs Sundays at 9/8c on Bravo. Episodes stream next day on Peacock.

As for her current home, there were “a couple of updates that [she] would love to do,” Toya said. “I would love to increase the size of my countertop in the kitchen.”

The open kitchen (pictured below) boasts floor-to-ceiling panels of light wood and white-and-gray marble, a place offering tons of natural lighting and, as Toya put it, “where everyone congregates.” “They love to be in the kitchen,” she continued. “I just want a bigger vibe and more chairs around that area.”

What’s more, Toya sought “a couple [of] tweaks” to the home’s exterior, but otherwise she was “in love” with the home’s current state. “I’m happy; it’s comfortable,” she said. “I’m quite blessed to be in it.”

Still, Toya confessed that she has her eyes on another home away from home for her and her husband, Dr. Eugene Harris. “As far as staying there for the long haul, you know, I see me and my husband, at some point, having a home somewhere else for six months out of the year,” Toya revealed. “Just somewhere where it’s about him and I, and just exploring the world and, you know, and everything that it has to offer, like whenever we go to Italy, we get extremely happy.”

Those tuning in to Season 12 have now been inside the gorgeous 5,280 square foot home, which features five bedrooms and five and a half baths. From a floor-to-ceiling cherry blossom tree inside Toya’s designer-filled walk-in closet to the living room’s two-story fireplace, there is no detail overlooked in the family’s new forever home, as Toya explained in the season premiere.

“Baby, the house is definitely a custom build,” Toya said in the Nov. 30 episode. “Everything from the type of wood, staining, to the design of the cabinets, to the wall, to the closet.”

Eugene, who spends more time away from home this season due to his long-distance work demands as an emergency medicine physician, noted his wife did “an excellent job” crafting the stunning Georgia home.

Toya Bush-Harris transforms her home for the holidays

Sadly, Dr. Eugene had planned to be away from home for the holidays because of his work schedule, as the Michigan-raised mom recently told The Daily Dish. “I said that is so disrespectful towards God,” she joked in the interview.

Instead, Toya’s mother and great-aunt had planned to be there to celebrate Christmas around a jaw-dropping $1,200 Christmas tree, and she expects plenty of kitchen time. Even before she begins her planned kitchen upgrade, there is already plenty of room there to serve up an unforgettable holiday.

“I’m gonna have some people over in the evening,” she explained. “We’re gonna do cute holiday espresso martinis and have someone setting up a cute S’mores board all along my countertop, and we’re gonna do S’mores all night.”

Having loved ones near will be especially important as the family gets through their first Christmas without their beloved family dog, Bailey.
