Denise Richards went through so much in 2025. The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills alum faced both physical and personal changes last year while going through a divorce from Aaron Phypers.
The mom of three took to Instagram on Thursday, Jan. 1, where she posted a photo of herself and reflected on everything that had happened throughout 2025. In the photo, Denise can be seen looking out over a city, staring into a sunset while wearing a black dress. She then took to the caption of the post, where she admitted that she doesn’t recognize herself in many photos from earlier in the year.
“Looking back at all the photos & videos I have of 2025, it feels like I’m looking at two different people & lived two different lives,” she wrote in the caption. “Seeing a lot of your posts, many of you felt the same way. I will never forget this year, one of the most painful years I’ve lived…A year of letting go, truths being exposed. As painful as it is, I’m so grateful for the clarity. I shed a lot of tears and felt pain & betrayal I never knew existed.”
She continued, thanking her friends, family members, and the doctors who removed her breast implants earlier this year for helping her through 2025. “I’m so thankful you all got me through it,” she continued. “And going to Comic Cons & BravoCon was so humbling for me. Meeting all of you & hearing how much you’ve supported my career. I’m so grateful for all of you. I did have a lot of blessed, happy moments in 2025 & especially the last couple of months, I’m finally starting to feel like me, only better.”

And now, Denise is looking forward to 2026 and the new chapter that comes with this new year. “I’m looking forward to the year of the horse,” she added. “I feel very lucky that it starts on my birthday. Happy New Year to all of you & Happy New You to those of you that really went through it in 2025. Happy 2026!”

Denise’s friends then took to the comments of the post, where they left their own encouragement to her. The Real Housewives of Orange County‘s Heather Dubrow left her three red heart emojis, while Vanderpump Rules alum, Tom Sandoval’s girlfriend, Victoria Lee Robinson, left her two heart eyes emojis.

Denise is continuing to open up about how hard the past year was on her during a guest appearance on RHOBH Season 15. In the trailer for the current season, Denise can be seen sitting down with cast member Erika Jayne, talking about her divorce from Aaron. “How could you release pictures of your wife naked?” she asked.

Erika then asked Denise if she was “afraid,” to which Denise replied: “Yeah, very.”
