New Footage Shows Missing Special Ed Teacher Leaving Vehicle, Never Returning – Crime Online

Additional details have emerged in connection with missing special education teacher, Linda Brown, who vanished Saturday from Chicago’s Bronzeville neighborhood.

Brown was last seen in the 4500-block of South Martin Luther King Drive, which is close to her residence.

According to FOX 32 Chicago, Brown’s family said Thursday that security footage showed her parking her vehicle that day, a blue Honda Civic, getting out of the car and walking away.

Her sister’s husband, Lorenzo, told our “Crime Stories” staff that Linda’s vehicle had been located at 35th and Lake Park. The footage showed her walking across a pedestrian bridge alone on January 3, at around 3 a.m.

On Wednesday, her husband, Antwon Brown, said police located the vehicle, but did not release additional details, as the investigation into her disappearance is ongoing.

As CrimeOnline previously reported, Brown is said to have left home for an acupuncture appointment in the Wicker Park area on Saturday, but never arrived, according to a Chicago Teachers Union’s online flyer.

Brown told FOX 32 they watched a movie at home the night prior, then went to bed. When he woke up the following morning, she had already left.

“I woke up at 8:45 a.m. and she was gone. She took her purse and credit cards, but I’m thinking she was at acupuncture,” he said.

Antwon added that the disappearance is out of character for his wife, who took her purse and credit cards with her.

Calls and messages to her phone have not been answered.

Antwon said Linda has a history with mental health issues but had never left home before without returning. Chicago police said she may be in need of medical attention.

“I am terrified,” Antwon said, according to NBC Chicago. “I am just shaking. I need my wife home.”

On Monday, Linda Brown’s family retraced her steps in Bridgeport, while contacting area hospitals, ABC 7 reports. They’re hoping the public can help with assistance.

“We don’t know where she is. We need to find her because I’m breaking down and I don’t know what to do,” her husband said.

Brown, a teacher at Robert Healy Elementary School, is described as standing 5 feet tall and weighing around 130 pounds. She has brown hair, brown eyes, and a fair complexion.

CPD urges anyone with information to contact Area One SVU detectives at 312-747-8380.
