Captain Sandy Yawn and chief stew Aesha Scott have dealt with their fair share of demanding guests over the years, but the newest arrivals on board the Bravado take it a step further when they question how Captain Sandy does her job in the above preview of Below Deck Mediterranean Season 10, Episode 17 (airing Monday, Jan. 19).

“It’s not raining no more. Why can’t we go out?” a guest asks Aesha as she scrambles to answer the calls of her name.

“It’s the wind,” Aesha explains, but the guest isn’t satisfied, and responds, “That doesn’t matter!”

As another guest chimes in to note that “it’s a beautiful day,” another also peppers Aesha with a question about Sandy’s captain abilities: “If she can’t handle wind, what is she captain for?”

Things quickly spiral out of control, as one of the guests checks a weather app on her phone, and declares, “I mean, it’s completely changed. And the skies are clear. So what are we doing?”

To a speechless Aesha, the guest then orders, “Listen, majority votes. Let’s go.”

Aesha calls Sandy for backup on her radio, telling her, “The guests wanted to talk to you if you’re available.” Aesha also warns ominously, “Prepare yourself.”

As Sandy makes her way to the deck, the guests continue to question her authority, with one asking, “Am I the only one not feeling this wind?”

Once Sandy stands before them, the guests make a proposal.

“Sandy, we have an offer,” one explains to her. “The offer is: to move the boat.”

As a dumbstruck Sandy stands there at a loss for words, the guest orders, “There’s no other/or. It’s, let’s move the boat.”

Aesha Scott reveals how she deals with difficult Below Deck guests

When a repeat charter guest came on board Bravado earlier in Season 10, Aesha was concerned that Jack Freeman — who she also served in Below Deck Down Under Season 2 — would be difficult once again. Her theory proved correct, much to the dismay of the crew. After chef Josh Bingham whipped up a difficult and elaborate eight course tasting menu, Jack still had another request to make at 1 a.m.: “a little Sichuan chicken.”

When Josh admitted Aesha that he didn’t “know what to do,” Aesha stepped up and helped to steer Jack in another direction. She suggested instead that Jack “think of something that would only take like ten minutes” to cook.

“So no, I’m sorry, I’ve gotta protect my chef,” she explained in her confessional during Episode 4. “He has been up for 20 hours, and he does need some sleep.”

Aesha added that there is one unspoken rule of yachting she abides by. “We always say that we never say no. That we are seven-star service, and whatever you want, we will provide for you,” she told producers. “But, what they don’t tell you, is the invisible print right at the bottom says, ‘Within reason.’”

Josh Bingham shares how a demanding guest caused him to walk off the yacht

Jack Freeman wasn’t the only difficult guest during Below Deck Med Season 10. Two vegan guests gave Jack a run for his money when they were unhappy with the meals chef Josh served during Episode 5.

“For me, personally, I look at my plate, it’s all starches,” one of the guests, Carlos, complained to Aesha. “It’s really nothing healthy for me. Like, I like greens — there’s no mineral content really here. It’s good. It’s filling. But my body’s not really getting what it needs.”

It came after Carlos also visited Josh in the galley earlier in the day to “have a conversation” about how he liked his food prepared.

When Aesha reported Carlos’ criticism back to Josh, he put his shoes on and began walking off the yacht.

“You’re expecting too much for one person. F—k you all,” he muttered to himself as he left. He then added in his confessional interview: “I’m going to lose my s—t.”

Also Aesha tried to call Josh back, he shouted back to her from the dock, “It’s bulls—t. I can’t right now.” After cooling down for a few moments, he later returned to Bravado.

ICYMI, Chef Josh had another difficult moment with guests during the season that he revealed was his “biggest fear.”
