Those tuning in to The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills are learning more about Erika Jayne and her new beau, retired vet John “Shrek” McPhee, but is the “XXPEN$IVE” singer ready to take their relationship down the aisle?
Erika discussed the topic of marriage on The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills After Show for Season 15, Episode 4 after producers asked whether she would ever say “I do” after her divorce from former high-powered attorney Tom Girardi. “No, I don’t think so,” Erika confessed in the above video. “I’m still married … I don’t know… I don’t want to give anybody these problems, does that make sense?”
As the rest of the cast reacted to paparazzi photos of Erika and John hand in hand, they, too, wondered about the prospect of Erika marrying once again. Kyle Richards said, “If she were to want it, I think she’d have no problem finding a husband,” to which newcomer Amanda Frances wholeheartedly agreed, stating, “I’m sure she can have her pick of many.”
Sutton Stracke, along with RHOBH friends Jennifer Tilly and Kathy Hilton, believed Erika might be seeking something less official than marriage.
“I think she’s looking for somebody to have fun with and, like, a companion or friend,” Jennifer said. “Share a good time with, someone who’s good in bed; he looks like he would be good in bed. I don’t really think she’s looking for another husband.”

Who is Erika Jayne’s boyfriend, John McPhee?
John McPhee, whom some have referred to as “Shrek,” is a retired U.S. Army special ops sergeant major. Erika confirmed their relationship in July after paparazzi photos surfaced following a mani/pedi outing. She revealed more on the aforementioned After Show episode about how they met:
“I met him in London, then he took me to dinner, and then we saw each other again,” Erika said. “Yeah, and I guess that paparazzi, you know, the picture happened. Well, then I could no longer keep it. So, it was nice to have two dates that were just my own.”
The Bet It All on Blonde star also confirmed they are still together and “having a great time.”
Is Erika Jayne still married to Tom Girardi?
Erika is still legally married to Tom Girardi, who was sentenced in June (on his 86th birthday) to serve seven years in federal prison for a 2024 wire fraud conviction. Erika filed for divorce in 2020 after 21 years of marriage, around the attorney’s legal, financial, and health woes began to unravel in Season 11 of RHOBH.
Earlier this season, Erika confessed to Sutton that she was still “not over that,” addressing the probability that her estranged husband may die while incarcerated.
“I’m heartbroken,” Erika maintained. “It f–king sucks. Knowing that person and being married to that person for that long, and then to see him walk down the courtroom steps like that, knowing that he’s going to die in prison, that’s heavy. On any level.”

Erika was previously married to Thomas Zizzo for about five years until 1996. That relationship gave Erika her only son, 32-year-old police officer Tommy Zizzo, and the exes remain on good terms today.
