The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills‘ Dorit Kemsley still can’t quite wrap her head around why Kyle Richards never seemed to be fully in her corner amid her contentious divorce from Paul “PK” Kemsley.
During Season 15, Episode 5, Dorit explained why she “doesn’t always feel the most supported by” Kyle to some of the ladies in Sedona (more on that below), before adding even more intel on The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills After Show.
For starters, Dorit pointed out that she’d always “emphatically” taken Kyle’s side, at a time when her split from Mauricio Umansky allegedly wasn’t quite as amicable as it is today.
“When Kyle and Mau had first separated … they didn’t have the friendship that they have 1768541045,” Dorit claimed. “They were very estranged and bitter. And PK and I were still together, and very close, so PK was sharing with me his friendship and how Mau was feeling and so on.”

She continued, “I never once felt it hard to have an allegiance to Kyle. In fact, I never once felt like I was betraying my husband. I would say to my husband, ‘Oh, I am firmly in her corner,’ and stood — she doesn’t know this — but stood in defense of her more times than you could ever imagine. And I mean, without even knowing the facts. … So, I think that’s why also I feel so, like, this is not hard.”
The mom of two also made a clarification on her expectations of Kyle in their friendship.
“I want to clear this up: I don’t need you to bash PK,” Dorit added. “I won’t stop you, but that’s not what I need from you. And don’t confuse the two. You know what I mean? Like, she knows.”
Kyle Richards responded to Dorit Kemsley’s criticism
Separately on the RHOBH After Show, Kyle opened up about why it had been challenging to completely stay out of Dorit and PK’s drama, as Erika Jayne had advised her to do during Episode 5.
“It’s hard at times, because the topic does come up repeatedly,” Kyle said. “But I’ve already learned with Dorit that, you know, if she has an idea in her head, she is on that train, and it is not stopping.”

Either way, she noted that Dorit had “made it very clear” that she didn’t want her advice anymore, before doubling down on her preference to remain neutral in the matter.
“I don’t want to talk about that with her anymore,” Kyle declared. “Like, I don’t. I just wanna move on.”
Meanwhile, the OG RHOBH ‘Wife noted that she could only theorize why Dorit seemed to hold her feet to the fire more than the others.
“Maybe it bothers Dorit that she knows how close Mau and PK are, and that I’m hearing things from Mau,” Kyle guessed. “Maybe she feels the need to overexplain the point she wants to make to me because she knows I’m hearing some other things, maybe. I don’t know. But she definitely has a different reaction to me talking about it than anyone else.”
Why Dorit Kemsley felt unsupported by Kyle Richards amid her and PK’s divorce
While the rest of the women were on a hike in Sedona during RHOBH‘s Jan. 15 episode, Dorit sat down with Bozoma Saint John and Rachel Zoe to unpack her recent issues with Kyle.
In her explanation, Dorit cited a specific moment from Jennifer Tilly’s “Sip and Draw” party when she shared her feeling that PK was intentionally trying to “hurt” her by blocking their children, Jagger and Phoenix, from visiting her parents in Florida.
At the time, Kyle had quickly pushed back on Dorit’s accusation by interjecting, “Who knows? … Maybe he is, maybe he’s not,” as a flashback reminded viewers.
“I’m hypersensitive to it, because I’ve heard it so much,” Dorit told Boz and Rachel of Kyle apparently playing devil’s advocate.
During a subsequent conversation, Kyle had also pointed out to Dorit that Mauricio was hearing the “complete opposite” of what she was saying about PK — and that her estranged husband believed him.
“This goes back to actions and words,” Dorit concluded. “Don’t tell me, ‘I support you entirely,’ because I believe it. So then, if I don’t see it, I’m like…”
As the drama continues on RHOBH, find out why Kyle suggested that Dorit speak to Mauricio about PK directly.
