The Real Housewives of Orange County’s Heather Dubrow has no problem impressing her husband of more than 25 years, but there was one unforgettable hairstyle she attempted that didn’t exactly win him over.
Few could forget the RHOC Season 9 reunion back in 2014 when the OC mom of four opted to have a haircut backstage at the studio … and just moments before filming. Showing up with wet hair, Heather sat in the chair and let the hairdresser chop off a solid eight inches before he went for “some blunt bangs.” The hairstylist followed through, giving Heather a bob that veered away from her signature long locks, leaving Heather to think aloud, “I wonder if Terry [Dubrow] is going to like bangs.”
During the haircutting process, Heather’s bangs covered her eyes, which she said was “perfect” because “now I don’t have to deal with anyone” at the sit-down that season.
The impromptu haircut caught Tamra Judge by surprise as she passed in the hallway, stopping to comment, “Wow, check you out,” once seeing the final result. She asked Heather if they were real bangs versus clip-ins, and to prove they were real, Heather invited Tamra to give them a little tug.
“Do you think Terry’s gonna like it?” Heather asked.
“I don’t know,” Tamra admitted. “Eddie [Judge] didn’t like my bangs; I didn’t like my bangs.”
Once Heather met Terry on stage, it was clear Terry wasn’t in love with his wife’s new look, but he did explain why (as seen in the video at the top of the post): “This is not the face that you put bangs on,” he said, though he acknowledged that the hairstylist did a “great job.”
Still, when leaving the stage and asked by another about Heather’s bangs, Terry continued, “Have you seen my wife’s face? Do you wanna cover any of that face?”
Heather Dubrow talks Gina Kirschenheiter out of getting bangs
Fast forward to the summer of 2024, when RHOC’s Gina Kirschenheiter asked followers whether she should or shouldn’t go for bangs. In the caption of the August 2024 Instagram video, Gina wrote, “Please help me to help myself and tell me NOT to cut bangs …. Thank you in advance for your help.”

Gina noted that she’d seen the hair trend popping up here and there on social media, but leaned against the idea, saying, “We all know, I mean, I’m not gonna survive another bad-hair blunder; we all know it. So, please help me to understand that we’re not gonna do the bangs.”
Heather responded in the comments, and didn’t tiptoe with her opinion: “JUST SAY NO.” But when Gina returned to Instagram with a digitally altered photo of herself with bangs, Heather wrote, “HAHAHAHAHAHA.”
Heather Dubrow names her go-to hair products
Previously, Heather shared her tried-and-true secrets for achieving impeccable hair in an Instagram AMA (Ask Me Anything) session. When it came to her favorite shampoo and conditioner, Heather said she was “obsessed” with Mara Roszak’s Rōz brand’s “The Foundation,” even though a set cost $81. “[It’s] expensive, but worth it,” she maintained.

All said, while Heather might go all out when it comes to washing her hair, on an April 10 TikTok, she shared her favorite hairspray, and it was a drugstore buy: L’Oreal Paris Elnett Hairspray.
“Literally obsessed with this; it is the best hairspray,” she said while using the product on her own hair. “Get it at the drugstore. It does great hold, gives you great shine, and doesn’t get sticky. You can brush right through it and layer it a million times, and it’s still soft and great, and I love it, and it comes in a travel size.”
