Police in Indiana have upgraded a missing persons alert for a 17-year-old girl to “endangered,” meaning they believe she may be at risk of harm and unable to return home on her own.
Hailey Buzbee left her home in Fishers, northeast of Indianapolis, overnight on January 5 and has not been seen since, the Fishers Police Department said.
The department said she “left her house willingly and with a plan” but “did not act alone.”
“Because this is an active investigation and to protect Hailey, many details about the search for her cannot be shared publicly,” police said, asking the public to continue to provide any tips to local, state, and federal law enforcement as they continue their search for the girl.
Investigators said Buzbee has brown hair and eyes and was last seen wearing a white blouse, grey jeans, and a black puffer jacket and was carrying a pink Vera Bradley duffle bag.
Anyone with information should call 911 or the non-emergency line at 317-773-1282.
