“Makes Him First Woman”
Kellyn attended the Timber Lake Head Start. At the young age of 4 years old Kellyn lost her mother in 2005. She had then lived with her grandma Helmine until the age of 7. She then moved home to be with her father Bryan Swift Cloud. This is where her love for horses began. She attended and participated in many events such as parades, processions, and chief rides. She spent almost every summer on the back of her horse Swifty, with her best friend Tashea. They were inseparable! Many times, they came home late and would sure hear an ear beating from the oldest Alyssa. A few times they got caught in rainstorms while out riding. Kellyn always shared her stories about her and Tashea. She had many. Because of their love for horses, Kellyn and Tashea grew to be more like sisters.
Kellyn graduated from Sitting Bull School; she then moved to Eagle Butte to live with her late Aunt Duchess where she attended Tiospaye Topa – Laplante school. Kellyn moved home to Standing Rock in 2015. She loved being an auntie to her many nieces and nephews who all called her auntie Kel. In September 2022, she brought a beautiful Babygirl into the world with her sister Carlys by her side. Ava Carla Rose is her one and only child who she loved and cherished very much.
In the summer Kellyn enjoyed attending powwows, rodeos, and horse races. She was very proud of her nieces and nephews who all danced, sang and participated in horse events. Kellyn especially cherished the moments she got to camp at powwows with Ava and her family.
Kellyn is the baby of 3 daughters. Her dad had the nickname Baby Tamere for her and still called her that to this day. Kellyn Mabel is loved by so many. All memories of her will forever be cherished.
