A 43-year-old Wyoming man gunned down his 23-year-old wife Wednesday morning before turning the gun on himself.
The Bonneville County Sheriff’s office said that Christopher Moon call 911 just before 8 a.m. and told dispatchers he’d murdered his wife and intended to kill himself, KIFI reported.
Multiple law enforcement agencies, including the county’s SWAT team raced to the home and found Moon in one of two vehicles parked on the side of the road. They contacted him by phone and tried to talk him into surrendering, but instead he shot himself in view of the officers on the scene.
After witnessing the suicide, officer approached and found the body of Cassandra “Cassie” Moon. Bonneville County Sgt. Bryan Lovell said there were no other injuries.
The couple is survived by three children, two boys and an infant daughter. Investigators did not say where the children were at the time Moon committed his crime.
