California Woman Driving Without License Runs Over Bike-Riding Boy Twice, Flees the Scene – Crime Online

A California woman is facing charges for allegedly killing a 6-year-old with her vehicle before fleeing the scene.

According to The San Diego Union-Tribune, 32-year-old Tiffany Sanchez has been charged with suspicion of vehicular manslaughter and hit-and-run, in connection with the death of Hudson O’Loughlin. She’s also been charged without a license.

Police said Hudson had been riding his bicycle on Pacific Beach Drive on January 17, when an SUV struck him while on a bike path at Pacific Beach Drive.

Hudson had been riding along with his family when Sanchez hit him, according to Lt. Ceasar Jimenez with the San Diego Police Department. She then allegedly accelerated “rapidly,” hitting him again before driving away.

First responders rushed Hudson to Rady Children’s Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

“Right after she hit the kid, she ran over him twice,” witness David Morrow told KFMB. “Like, both wheels ran over the kid,” Morrow said. “She stopped right in front for about ten seconds. That’s when I pulled behind her and got her license number, and then she took off.”

Morrow said he had been driving behind Sanchez as he watched the scene unfold.

FOX 5 San Diego reports that the San Diego County Bike Coalition stated that the area where the incident took place is “among the city’s more dangerous streets.”

“We’ve been asking the city for support and funding and helping us install infrastructure that will help calm the traffic and make more people comfortable,” resident David Cuthell said, according to KPBS.

Sanchez is scheduled for an arraignment on Tuesday.

Meanwhile, a GoFundMe page has been established to help the family with expenses.
