OCALA, Fla. (TCN) —Â A man will spend four years behind bars for attempting to rob a Taco Bell restaurant with a large rock in 2025.
WFTV reports that shortly after midnight on July 8, 2025, Kewarren Anderson, 40, went to the drive-thru window of a Taco Bell while holding a large rock, climbed into the window, and demanded money from employees and customers. The employees fled the restaurant and Anderson reportedly chased after them.
The Ocala News reports a staff member called the authorities to report a robbery in progress.Â
A K-9 officer later found Anderson hiding behind a dumpster, WFTV reports, and he was treated for injuries at the hospital before being taken to jail.Â
The New York Post reports Anderson was homeless at the time and allegedly told police he needed money. A few hours after his arrest, he allegedly got into a physical altercation with another incarcerated person and was charged with battery by a person at a detention facility in addition to the armed robbery charge.
Anderson was sentenced to four years in prison for armed robbery on Jan. 22, per the Ocala News. He was credited with six months and 19 days for time served prior to sentencing.
