Summer House’s Amanda Batula and Kyle Cooke recently revealed that their “good” relationship in spite of their recently-announced split makes caring for their rescue dogs, Reese and Ryder, effortless.
As Amanda said on the Jan. 27 episode of Sirius XM’s Radio Andy, it’s “been easier to get along” ever since they announced their breakup on Jan. 19. “We talk all the time, you know, we’re both traveling, so I’m watching the dogs,” she began, as Kyle and several other Summer House Season 10 cast members sat alongside her for the interview. “So, I’m watching the dogs, he’s watching the dogs, we’re co-parenting the dogs together.”
Before Amanda’s update about their adorable fur babies — adopted in 2022 — Kyle agreed that he and Amanda were in a great place, something he has repeatedly stuck to in recent days. What’s more, he said that things are actually improving between the two.
“I think every step we’ve taken, there’s a little bit of, like, a weight has been lifted,” the Loverboy founder explained. “And, ironically, I feel like this last week, having kind of pressed post together … it felt like we were a little more light. Lighthearted.”
Both told of how Amanda will still call her estranged husband when she has questions, including a recent event in which her smoke alarm went off. Kyle said they were creating “[their] own blueprint” as they navigated life separated, and, above all, “I want her to be happy,” Kyle said. “I want us both to be happy.”

Kyle and Amanda issued a joint statement on their Instagram Stories on Jan. 19, announcing their separation after four years of marriage. Their statement came mere weeks before the premiere of Summer House Season 10, sure to include what Ciara Miller called “f–king insane” revelations about the couple’s marriage.

The pair called the decision to split mutual and amicable, adding, “We share this with a heavy heart and kindly ask for your grace and support while we focus on our personal growth and healing. It feels ironic to ask for privacy during this time since we’ve always tried to be open and honest about our relationship, but your kindness and respect will go a long way as we try to navigate our next chapter.”

Kyle explained that their separation was a long time coming, calling it “the worst-kept secret” among those who knew them best. Specifically, it was apparent to many when both decided to live in separate residences in New York City.

Despite bombshells in the Season 10 trailer about their relationship, including Amanda’s claims that Kyle fell asleep at a fan’s apartment and didn’t come home until 6:30 a.m., Kyle cautioned that there wasn’t a single source to blame for the split.
“This isn’t, like, a big breakup where there’s a smoking gun and there’s a lot of hate. There’s absolutely some frustration … I’ve done things, she’s done things,” Kyle told comedian Adam Glyn earlier this month. “But we’ve got each other’s back[s]. We care about each other. We still love each other.”
