A 43-year-old California man has been arrested after his father called 911 and begged for help because “he stabbed me.”
The Barstow Police Department said the call came in shortly after midnight Wednesday. Arriving officers found the 63-year-old man outside the home with facial injuries as well as cuts to his neck and finger.
“The victim told officers that his son, 43-year-old Barstow resident Jimmy Vincent, had suddenly armed himself with a knife, threatened to kill him, and began punching and attempting to stab him,” the department said. “The victim further advised officers that Vincent remained inside the residence and was still armed with a knife.”
Police established a perimeter around the home, and Vincent eventually came out and was arrested. Medical personnel treated his injured father, while officers found a bloody kitchen knife on the scene.
Vincent was booked into the High Desert Detention Center, charged with attempted murder and criminal threats.
Jail records show he’s been given a $1 million bond and is due in court on Friday.
