Shep Rose is moving from one beach house to another on Southern Charm Season 11, but he recently shared that it’ll be quite a while before he’s fully settled in his $3.25 million Sullivan’s Island pad near Charleston.

“Renovations start in two weeks. So, I’m going to be essentially homeless,” he revealed on the Southern Charm After Show, and added, “It’s kinda daunting, but also exciting.”

When producers pointed out Shep could stay with Craig Conover again, and Whitner Slagsvol joked Shep could use his guest room, Shep laughed, “Yeah, I can bounce around like the vagabond that I am.”

Luckily, Shep has plenty of support getting his new abode in top shape. He enlisted help from Rodrigo Reyes to design his new home, which Rodrigo admitted is a tall order during the After Show.

“It was kind of a race against the clock because Shep had nothing, and it was a matter of every bedroom having a bed,” Rodrigo recalled. “We weren’t sure if there was going to be a complete redesign of certain parts of the house, but now that it’s actually taking place, though, now we’re going to the next phase.”

Shep first opened up about leaving his bachelor pad on the Isle of Palms for a “bigger” 5,000 square foot abode during Episode 3. “It’s like historical,” he explained. “Four bedrooms. Four baths.”

“The house fits my personality,” he explained to producers during the Jan. 28 episode. “No frills. I don’t need a lot of bells and whistles. I don’t need a brand new kitchen and vaulted ceilings and crown molding.”

Shep gave Craig and Rod a tour of the house during Episode 9, pointing out, “the floors are from the 20s.”

“Obviously, there’s a lot to get done,” Shep admitted, but he showed off his large coffee table and added, “We got a sectional couch coming.”

“This is a lot of space. This is a big home.” Craig told Shep. “You can get married, and have a first kid and a second kid in here, and be golden.”

It turns out, Shep is open to the idea. “It’s like, what comes first, the chicken or the egg?” he told producers. “Maybe the big boy house—that’s the chicken—and then the egg comes later? Who knows.”

As far as renovations go, Shep is also envisioning “a better primary bedroom” and a “better bathroom attached to it.” He’s also rethinking what the dining room can be.

“We’re going to do this really cool lounge off his kitchen, instead of a traditional dining room off the kitchen,” Rodrigo revealed. “It’s going to look really good.”

The backyard is getting some big upgrades as well, including the addition of a plunge pool and “a little bar.” The intended vibe, Shep shared in the Jan. 28 episode, is “just chill.”

During the After Show, Austen Kroll praised Rodrigo’s design talent and declared he’s “stoked” to see Shep’s new home come to life.

“Rod’s super talented, because Rod has a very interesting style eye,” Austen shared. “It brings lots of character to rooms—to spaces. I’m very excited for Shep’s house.”

But no one is more anxious than Shep. “When it’s done, it’ll be super exciting,” he said. “I’ll have my house, and I won’t have to think about that hopefully forever again.”

Don’t miss Shep teasing his reunion plans for Craig and Austen in an exclusive interview with The Daily Dish.
