When Rachel Zoe filed for divorce in the midst of filming The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, the Season 15 newcomer had no idea that the news would go viral.
But that’s exactly what happened during Episode 7 when Rachel discovered that headlines about her divorce from Rodger Berman were “f–king everywhere,” as she put it to her assistant.
“OK, so, um, I filed for divorce this morning. Just a typical day,” Rachel quipped in a confessional, before explaining the reasoning behind her legal move. “I mean, it’s not one thing. It’s an absolute myriad of bad decisions that have been made over the last month, the last weeks, the last f–king hour, that would trigger me to move things forward.”

To add context, a flashback to two days earlier showed Rachel had debriefed Erika Jayne on an unplanned recent encounter with Rodger’s “girlfriend” as their sons, Skyler and Kaius Berman, were boarding a plane to camp. Up until that point, this woman had “never met the kids,” as far as Rachel knew.
“I do not have a prenup with my ex,” she further revealed to a producer. “I don’t want to give spousal support, and I don’t want to get spousal support. I feel that this is a new beginning, and if we are separating and living separate lives with separate people, I don’t see why I should be paying for that, or he should be paying for mine.”
Either way, Rachel said she was glad that their sons were at camp — and away from social media — when the news went public. “Thank god they didn’t have any electronics that they could see it, ” she added on The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills After Show. “But I just am always very honest with my kids. … At the end of the day, there’s an open communication about it.”
Rachel Zoe opened up about what went wrong in her marriage to Rodger Berman
At the time of Rachel’s divorce filing in July 2025, she and Rodger had been married for more than 26 years, on top of an additional seven years of dating, even before they were married. As she explained to a producer during RHOBH‘s Jan. 29 episode, their dynamic had majorly shifted along the way, however.

“At the end of the day, I can’t change someone else. I can’t make them be who they don’t want to be,” Rachel said. “And ultimately, he didn’t want to be the person that I was with for the first 25 f–king years of our relationship. But I still grieve a relationship that was more than half of my life. It’s just sad.”
While chatting with Dorit Kemsley later on, Rachel insisted, “There is not a cell of my being that would ever consider being back with him,” before adding, “I miss the old him. I miss the him from long ago. That person is no longer present in any way, shape, or form, and has not been for so long.”
Rachel’s comments prompted Dorit to question why she didn’t file for divorce sooner.
“I have spent the last year dealing with the logistics of my new life,” Rachel shared, adding that she was doing “great” amid the split. “This is just, to me, a detail in the process of moving forward. … I don’t care how much he loved me. I don’t care [about] any of it, because you know what? It’s all f–king bulls–t.”

On the RHOBH After Show, Rachel also addressed the timeline of when she hopes her and Rodger’s divorce will be finalized.
“F–king yesterday. Literally yesterday,” she quipped, while responding to the producer’s prompt. “Because in my mind, I’ve been divorced for almost two years, and in reality, I’ve been separated for a year and, like, probably three months or something.”
Rachel also clarified that Rodger does not run any of her businesses.
“So that part of it is all fine,” she continued. “It’s more just, like, having that resolution and ending, to be like, OK… next.”
