Is Brittany Cartwright Moving Back to Kentucky Amid Divorce?

Is Brittany Cartwright considering a move from The Valley to her home state of Kentucky?

The question has lingered due to Brittany’s close ties to her family, especially after she took her son, 4-year-old Cruz Michael Cauchi, back home for the holiday season. “I mean, not right now,” she said on the Jan. 27 episode of the Boyfriend Material with Harry Jowsey podcast

Brittany cited too big a change for her and Jax Taylor’s only child — who was diagnosed with autism in 2024 — stating, “You know, he’s settled in with his stuff right now; I got to keep him kind of on the same routine.”

Though the timing may not be right for Brittany and Cruz to uproot their lives, it’s possible that Brittany could get a new place in the Bluegrass State.

“I definitely want to buy a house in Kentucky soon because I love to go back and visit,” Brittany said. “But this is, like, where my opportunities are … The Valley is going great; my podcast [When Reality Hits with Brittany Cartwright] is doing great; Cruz is in great therapies and different stuff. So, yeah, we’re not going to be moving any time soon.”

Are Brittany Cartwright and Jax Taylor divorced?

Although Brittany had “fingers crossed” that she and the former Vanderpump Rules bartender would be divorced by now, alas, the two are still legally married. “The hardest thing about the actual divorce is just that it keeps getting pushed back and pushed back and pushed back,” she said on the Jan. 27 podcast episode.

On a more positive note, though, “I’ve got everything in now, so I am good to go,” Brittany continued. “But, in the beginning, it was so strange, all the stuff that you have to do that I didn’t realize. You have to get every single file, bank accounts. I mean, everything you can possibly imagine has to be in and ready, and I have all that stuff in, but if the other person doesn’t, then it just keeps getting delayed and delayed.”

Jax has been less public about discussing the marriage since confirming his exit from The Valley in July — opting to focus on himself amid his mental health and substance abuse recovery.

Brittany Cartwright shares an update on co-parenting with Jax Taylor

On the same Jan. 27 podcast episode, Brittany touched on the ups and downs of her co-parenting journey with Jax, claiming, “It depends on the day, it depends on the mood… I just make sure I get everything done.” But, as has always been Brittany’s number one priority, “Cruz comes first, no matter what. His dad feels the same way.”

She shared a similar sentiment on the Jan. 13 episode of California Live: “[Jax] definitely loves his son, but, you know, I just get things done.”

“I feel like I’m thriving as a single mom,” Brittany added“My son is so amazing, and I feel like … I always wanted to be a mom. He’s so cute. He is my little everything; he’s my best friend, and, you know, honestly, I just love having him with me all the time. I just love it.”

Brittany Cartwright and Jax Taylor’s relationship timeline

Brittany and Jax exchanged vows at a Kentucky castle in 2019, with the earliest days of their relationship featured on Vanderpump Rules. One year later, they were expecting baby Cruz, who was born on April 12, 2021.

The family of three appeared on The Valley’s first two seasons, until Brittany filed for divorce on Aug. 25, 2024, and Jax moved out of their once-shared home.
