The 84-year-old mother of “Today” show host Savannah Guthrie has been reported missing from her Arizona home.
Nancy Guthrie was last seen in the Catalina Foothills area outside Tucson shortly before 10 p.m. on Saturday, the Pima County Sheriff’s Department said.
She was reported missing by family around noon on Sunday, according to Sheriff Chris Nanos.
Guthrie has some physical limitations but no cognitive issues, he added.
Nanos said search and rescue teams, including dogs and air assets, are out looking for Guthrie.
“We’ve pretty much thrown everything at this we can,” he said.
Nanos said investigators were concerned because of what they found at the scene.
“This one stood out because of what was described to us at the scene and what we found and located just in looking at the scene,” Nanos said, declining to say if investigators suspected foul play.
“I hope it’s not,” he said. “I hope we find her. I hope we find her safe and sound.”
Nanos also declined to describe what investigators found concerning about the scene.
Nancy Guthrie is described as 5 feet 5 inches tall and 150 pounds with brown hair and blue eyes.
