Sous chef Alesia Harris returned to M/Y Katina for her second charter season, but this go-around got off to a painful start during the Below Deck Down Under Season 4 supersized premiere. Before the first charter guests— who happened to be The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City Season 6 cast — even arrived on board, she fled the galley in tears due to injury.
“I’ve just burnt my hand!” she cried out to chef Ben Robinson during the Feb. 2 episode. “All the plates are really f—king hot…they’re literally boiling.”
Ben tried to soothe her as she ran cold water on her hand, and advised, “It’s not that bad a burn though. Just take some Advil and then it gets better.”
But Alesia told him she needed a moment, and as she walked past Captain Jason Chambers in the crew mess, she muttered to herself, “How embarrassing.” Cameras then caught her in tears in her room.
However, Alesia’s embarrassment was also due to burning a frittata just moments before she injured herself, causing Ben to criticize her. “How the f—k did that happen?” he asked her as he trashed her eggs.
After he explained why non-stick pans are better than stainless steel pans for eggs, he sarcastically continued, “I’d like you to bear witness to how genius this method is as opposed to what happened earlier, which was pretty much the f—k up of the century, in my opinion.”

Who is Alesia Harris on Below Deck Down Under Season 4?
In case you need a refresher, Alesia cooked under chef Tzarina Mace-Ralph during BDDU Season 3, and tried her hand at a boatmance when she exchanged a few “smoochies” with bosun Nate Salmon. The English sous chef has three years of yachting industry experience, according to her official Bravo.com bio.
Alesia butted heads with Tzarina in the galley, and said during Episode 12 she was tired of “walking on eggshells” around her boss, as well as what she felt was a lack of direction.
“I don’t get told anything that’s going on about the guest food or crew food,” she complained to her crew members at that time. “And I’m like, ‘Just tell me what the f—k is going on.’ It makes me feel like really useless…I just want to cry and cry and cry.”
An announcement for BDDU Season 4 hints that trouble is brewing for Alesia and Ben as well. “In his grand return to the galley, Chef Ben demands perfection. When Sous Chef Alesia doubts her ability to meet Chef Ben’s relentless standards, she questions her future onboard and reaches her boiling point,” the announcement teases.
Alesia Harris explains her complicated culinary school dreams
Alesia first voiced her hope of becoming a chef during BDDU Season 3 when she declared she’d “really fallen in love with cooking.”
“I’m going to apply for culinary schools. And I look forward to being a head chef one day. Watch out, Gordon Ramsay, I’m coming for you!” she said during the Season 3 finale.
But when she boarded Katina for Season 4, she admitted her plans didn’t pan out. “I am probably having a bit of an identity crisis because I’m not going to culinary school,” she confessed to producers during the Feb. 2 episode. “It was a huge mistake.”

After her injury during the supersized season premiere, she described herself as “embarrassed” and “insecure” in the galley. She then explained why she didn’t pursue her dream of culinary school. “After my mum persuaded me that cooking wasn’t for me, I found myself in Whistler, Canada through ski season…just kinda forgot about cooking altogether,” she confessed.
She shared her goal for this charter season: “I’ve lost all sense of self. I need a career. I need a skill set in order to cement my adult life. That’s my mission.”
