Gina Kirschenheiter was in “complete shock” when her (now) fiancé, Travis Mullen, proposed to her on New Year’s Eve in December 2025. The Real Housewives of Orange County mom of three had no idea that Travis was proposing when he popped the question on a family getaway with their kids.
Gina spoke with The Daily Dish on Jan. 28, where she opened up about the engagement ring that her fiancé surprised her with on the big day. “I will enjoy wearing this every day of my life, so I think he did a great job,” she said in our exclusive interview weeks after he proposed.
She was so surprised by the engagement that she had “zero conversations about engagement rings” with Travis prior to the proposal. “Zero,” she continued. “So that’s also why I didn’t see this coming, ’cause I’m like, ‘We weren’t even talking about this.’ And he was really nervous about that because [of that reason]. I wasn’t the girl who grew up dreaming about my wedding or knew exactly what I wanted.”
“One of my favorite parts about it is that it’s so stunning. It’s so perfect, and I love it, but I didn’t have to make that decision,” she added about the ring. “Because I don’t really love having to make those decisions. So, it just really works out for me, and I just think it’s really simple and it’s really beautiful, and I just think it goes with everything.”

Gina’s happiness over her ring can be seen in the photos that she has posted to her Instagram Story since the proposal. In the pictures, posted over the last few weeks, Gina can be seen showing off the ring during a house showing, flashing a glimpse at it while sitting in a chair, and showing it off while posing with Travis.

Gina had previously opened up about the ring in a Jan. 7 interview with People. The real estate agent revealed that Travis surprised her with a 6-Carat, oval-cut, diamond engagement ring crafted in 18K yellow gold. The ring is also surrounded by three smaller, round diamonds on each side of the center diamond, representing Travis and Gina’s combined six kids. She has since shared more about the signifigance of the ring with us.
“I was like, ‘Wow Trav, you did a good job.’ You know?” Gina told to The Daily Dish. “The band has six little stones in it for the kids and the kids were so excited to tell me that like, they were in the ring. And it’s just so special and wonderful that I felt like Travis and I got engaged, but I feel like the whole family got engaged.”

Travis popped the question to Gina in what she describes as a “sweet, private, magical moment” filmed by Travis’ daughter, Presley, who was hiding in the woods recording them. “It was just this magical, beautiful, little vacation with my family, you know? And then, actually, it was so sweet because I got excited and I’m just like, ‘I gotta share this,'” she explained, later sharing more from the proposal to social media.
“But what you didn’t see was that then we went inside the cabin that we had rented and all the kids were in the house and they had like, the New Year’s Eve horns and the confetti poppers, and they just started to sound the horns and pop the confetti poppers, and we were all jumping around and hugging and celebrating and I don’t think that I even realized how incredible it would be to have all the kids there,” she added.
