RHOSLC Cast’s Special Request That Required “No Camera Crew”

The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City ladies wanted the full Below Deck Down Under experience on their epic crossover charter — including a boatmance for single friend Britani Bateman.

Amid Britani’s flirting that continued on Season 4, Episode 2, João Franco went on the Below Deck Down Under After Show to reveal the RHOSLC ladies’ unseen special request that illustrated just how committed they were to playing wingwomen, too.

“The guests had asked if I could please take Britani by herself on a tender at 10:00 at night with no camera crew, just because she would like to get off the boat,” João recalled. “I was like, no.”

Even so, the second officer still ran the unusual request by Captain Jason Chambers and let him make the final decision.

His answer? “Obviously, Jason’s call’s like, ‘Yeah, man, there’s no way in hell,'” João added with a laugh.

Despite turning down the nighttime tender excursion request, João still kept in touch with Britani after the charter ended.

“There have been some messages between us, nothing crazy,” João said on the After Show.

And, yes, Britani’s on-and-off relationship with Jared Osmond did come up in their conversations.

“But it’s always, you know, when she mentions Jared or whoever it might be, I’m like, ‘Oh, really? OK, cool,'” João added. “She goes, ‘What’s that supposed to mean?’ I’m like, ‘I don’t know, you tell me.'”

It turns out that even some of the non-single RHOSLC ladies got in on the good-natured fun, too.

In an exclusive interview with The Daily Dish, Captain Jason recalled “one funny thing” that happened with Angie Katsanevas, in particular, when he “ran into” the ladies having dinner one night.

“They asked me that question, what sort of woman would I be looking for, and I said, someone natural,” he recounted. “And out of nowhere, I wasn’t watching, but Angie pulled her eyelashes, fake eyelashes off, threw them on the table, pulled her hair extensions out, threw them on the table, grabbed a napkin, wiped all her makeup off, and then turned around to me, [and said], ‘Is that natural enough?'”

As Captain Jason reflected, “It was so hilarious. It was one of the funniest things I have ever seen. We all started dying, crying, just laughing.”

On the Below Deck Down Under After Show, he also joked that there’s “nothing wrong with a bit of flirting,” anyway.

“It keeps the blood flowing,” Captain Jason quipped. “If the guests want it, you know, we’ll deliver it. But there is a line there. We’re not gonna put any crew member in a position that they don’t feel comfortable doing.”

Inside the RHOSLC cast’s other special requests on Below Deck Down Under

Of course, the RHOSLC cast also had plenty of on-camera special requests that kept the Below Deck Down Under crew on their toes.

For example, on the Feb. 9 episode specifically, Britani asked Captain Jason for a late-night tour of the megayacht, and he agreed but politely suggested another time.

Elsewhere, Lisa Barlow privately chatted with stew/deckhand Mike Durrant about letting Heather Gay “twerk” on him after their zombie-themed dinner. “I mean, that’s, like, the best gift you could give all of us,” Lisa told him.

Later, “Magic Mike,” who revealed he’s actually a stripper on the side, obliged. Amid their wild dance party, even Britani got a special lap dance from Joao.
