The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills’ Kyle Richards is paying tribute to her mom, Kathleen Richards, and she’s doing in style.
The RHOBH OG shared several pics of herself donning a L’Agence pinstripe suit with a plunging neckline, a Ducie fur coat, and oversized Mosanana aviators. In the Feb. 4 Instagram post, she wrote, “Channeling my mom,” adding nail polish and sunglasses emojis as she showed off her ’fit with several poses and mirror selfies.
One fun selfie included Kyle cheek-to-cheek with The Real Housewives of New York City’s Dorinda Medley, slated to join Kyle and other Housewives for The Real Housewives Ultimate Girls Trip: Roaring 20th (WT).
Kyle’s getup garnered a ton of praise in the comments section. For one, RHONY’s Sai De Silva wrote, “Nailed it sis,” while fellow RHUGT cast member Lisa Barlow of The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City offered a few red hearts.
Kyle didn’t specify exactly what about the look reminded her of her mom, but suffice to say, style runs in the genes.
Who is Kyle Richards’ mom?
Kathleen Richards, aka “Big Kathy,” was the mother of Kyle and her older sisters, RHOBH alum Kim Richards and current Friend of the series, Kathy Hilton.

Over the years, the sisters have found special ways to honor their mom, who lost her battle with breast cancer in 2002.
“Not a day goes by that I don’t think about her,” Kyle wrote in a March 2020 Instagram post to commemorate the 18th anniversary of her passing. “I wonder what she’s thinking, looking down upon our family. Wish she was here to be a part of it all in person.”
How the Richards sisters continue to honor their mom
Those who watch RHOBH know Kathleen’s presence is always with Kyle and her sisters, including when Kyle experienced “so much anxiety” in 2019 after medical professionals required extra images following a routine mammogram.

As Kyle explained on X when Season 9, Episode 16 aired, “I lost my mom to breast cancer in 2002. The fact that she hadn’t had a mammogram in 5 years haunts me. I really wanted to show this to bring awareness re: early detection and as a reminder to get checked.”
More recently, on April 17, 2024, Kyle took to Instagram to wish her mom a happy heavenly birthday. Her estranged husband, Mauricio Umansky — months after the RHOBH couple separated — jumped in the comments to also wish his late mother-in-law a Happy Birthday, complete with several heart emojis.
It was around that time that Kyle and Kathy stepped out at “An Unforgettable Evening,” an LA-based event raising money for The Women’s Cancer Research Fund. Kathy took time to thank event honoree Demi Moore, adding, “Thanks to this amazing organization, we are so much closer to a cure for this disease that took our mother [and] has taken so many others.”
Kyle’s 2018 single-season TV series, American Woman, was also loosely inspired by Kathleen, Kyle explained to The Daily Dish.
