With all progress in Dorit Kemsley and Paul “PK” Kemsley’s contentious divorce battle at a standstill, The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills cast member decided to take another tack and called in Mauricio Umansky for reinforcement — but their meeting didn’t go as well as she’d hoped.
“My biggest issue with PK at the moment is that I literally cannot get him to communicate with me,” Dorit explained in a Season 15, Episode 9, confessional. “And I’m really hoping that Mau can help. Maybe, as one of PK’s closest friends, Mau will nudge him in the right direction, so we can get on the same page, because that’s what’s best for the kids.”
In fact, the estranged couple’s co-parenting arrangement for their two children, Jagger and Phoenix, was the first topic Mauricio brought up when he sat down with Dorit to hear her side of the story. He told her that PK “would love” to have a schedule with the kids and to just actually “be able to see them.”
Dorit, meanwhile, insisted that she wanted PK to be “involved in their lives” and denied that she was “restricting” his access to the kids.

Mauricio wasn’t buying her version of events, however, explaining that PK had let him read all of their text messages. Even as Dorit attempted to counter that he’d seen only a “very isolated” piece of the larger picture, Mauricio refused to budge and continued to challenge her.
“I’ve seen it all,” he pushed back. “I promise you, like, I have seen the spreadsheets of his proposal on the money. … He showed me everything.”
Dorit, meanwhile, pulled out her phone to prove that she had never received any financial arrangement details, but at that point, Mau said that their conversation seemed to be “derailing into the wrong space” and pivoted back to the children.

As their tense debate continued, and Dorit brought up that PK “started drinking again,” Mauricio continued to go to bat for his friend. Once it became clear that they were not going to see eye to eye, he gave his final assessment.
“There’s always two sides to every story, and there’s different perception,” Mauricio concluded. “It sounds like you guys have to talk.”

As Dorit sarcastically responded, “Oh, wow. What a brilliant idea, Mau.”
With that being said, Mauricio announced that he had “dinner plans with a client” and had to end their conversation.
“Even though I had my reservations, there was a flicker of hope,” Dorit remarked in a confessional. “I wanted to believe that Mau had the capability of being unbiased. Oh my god, was I wrong. … This is f–kin’ two hours of my life I will never get back. This meeting was a complete waste of time.”

Later in RHOBH‘s Feb. 12 episode, Dorit jetted off to the Hamptons with Kyle Richards and Rachel Zoe. During a group dinner, Kyle asked Dorit what happened during her sit-down with Mauricio, and she interpreted her facial expressions as indicating that their talk was “not good.”
“To me, it felt very much like he had a script,” Dorit told Kyle, before describing Mauricio as being a “loyal soldier” who seemed to have come to the meeting with “a job to do.”
As it turned out, Kyle had actually already heard Mauricio’s side, however, as seen in footage from a phone call she had with her estranged husband one day earlier.
“She has her perspective, she has her point of view, and, you know, there was no way I was gonna change it,” Mau told Kyle in the clip. “All I was trying to do was let her see his point of view. I mean, to be honest with you, I don’t know if I can help them.”
Kyle, for her part, advised her ex that all he could do was “support them” and “talk to both of them,” but if his efforts weren’t fruitful, he should just “step away.”
Meanwhile, she explained to a producer why she did not contest Dorit’s characterization of her and Mauricio’s chat.
“I’m just going to keep my mouth shut, because what am I supposed to say? That’s not what I heard?” Kyle added in a confessional. “Dorit only wants “yes” people around her right now. I am not that person, so I’m going to avoid these conversations as much as possible.”
