Erika Jayne continued the slow rollout of her new relationship with John McPhee on The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills with a loving declaration.
While catching up with Bozoma Saint John during their ride to Amanda Frances’ dinner party on Season 15, Episode 9, Erika giddily shared that she’d talked to her “sweetheart” earlier that day.
When Erika noted that several news articles about their budding romance had also been published earlier that very same day, Boz suggested that John was “not used to” being in the limelight.

As Erika put it, though, he’s “used to a different thing,” likely referring to John’s military career as a retired U.S. Army Special Operations Sergeant Major.
In fact, John’s extensive combat experience may have actually given him the edge with Erika.
“Why do I like dating John? I like dating John because he’s just not shakable,” she revealed to a producer. “I’ve seen men want to talk to me and then realize, ‘Oh, that’s that woman. No. I’m not getting involved with that.’ And I cannot blame them. I wouldn’t either.”

Erika previously made similar comments on The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills After Show, underscoring how drama in her personal life had impacted her potential new romances, in the past.
“I don’t want to give anybody these problems,” she admitted, noting that she’s still legally married to estranged husband Tom Girardi. That fact partly contributed to her reasoning for remaining unsure, but doubtful if she would ever walk down the aisle again in the future.
Either way, nothing from Erika’s past had seemed to deter John from pursuing her — and their relationship is still going strong, as a result.

“I still see him, and he’s great,” she revealed on the RHOBHÂ After Show. “And I’m having a great time.”
That being said, Erika has since remained tight-lipped, as it relates to more specific details on their love life today.
During her Feb. 5 appearance on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen, for example, the only tea Erika spilled was that her relationship with John was “still going” and that he has still “met no one” from the RHOBH cast.

After paparazzi photos of Erika and her new man surfaced during Season 15, Episode 4, she explained to the ladies why she hadn’t let any of them (except Kyle Richards) in on her secret romance.
As Erika saw it, “there wasn’t enough there to talk about,” just yet, and “the time wasn’t right to say anything.”
After all, she and John had only been on two dates, including a joint spa visit for mani-pedis, after she first approached him at London’s Mighty Hoopla festival in the late spring of 2025. But nothing was the same, of course, once their candid couple’s photos swiftly thrust their romance into the public eye.
“I’m kind of disappointed, though, because I would’ve liked a little bit more time to get to know him before something like that happened,” Erika explained on the RHOBH After Show. “It changes everything, and then it’s no longer yours.”
Either way, her castmates expressed support for her new love connection, with many of her fellow diamond holder noting just how smitten she appeared in the pap shots with John.
Dorit Kemsley even went so far as to declare, “She looked happier than I have ever seen her look — ever.”
