A Virginia woman and her boyfriend were arrested this week when police responded to their home for a domestic disturbance and found their 5-month-old daughter with injuries “that required immediate medical intervention.”
The Culpeper Police Department said the infant was rushed to UVA-Culpeper Medical Center and later transferred to UVA Medical Center in Charlottesville, where she is “receiving treatment for extensive life-threatening injuries.”
Brittnei Mosher, 20, and Alexander Lowe, 22, have been charged with child abuse and neglect and remanded to jail without bond.
The baby has been placed into protective custody, and Mosher and Lowe served with orders or protection, including no-contact provisions.
Police said the investigation is ongoing and asked anyone with information to contact Detective K. Payne at (540) 829-5530 or via email at [email protected].
