After seven years of dating, Gia Giudice and Christian Carmichael are still going strong. The Next Gen NYC couple dished on their relationship during the February 8 episode of Gia’s podcast series, Casual Chaos.
“I still feel the same way about him that I did when I first met him,” The Real Housewives of New Jersey daughter said.
“Me too. I still get butterflies sometimes,” Christian admitted, causing Gia to laugh. “What? Why is that weird? I get nervous sometimes.”
Gia said the admission was “cute,” as it proved how she and Christian are still smitten over each other.
“I feel like when you know your spark has faded, it’s like when you stop caring,” she explained. “And I haven’t stopped yet.”
“I hope you never stop,” Christian added, to which Gia replied: “It won’t stop… When the spark’s there, the spark’s there.”
How did Gia Giudice and Christian Carmichael meet?
Gia and Christian were introduced in the summer of 2019, right before Gia began her freshman year at Rutgers University. The two shared their romantic origin story in a March 2025 episode of Casual Chaos, saying they met at a Seaside Heights house party.
“I show up to this house. I had the best weekend of my life,” Gia recalled. “Out of control. But it was so much fun.”
The pair went on to attend a country music concert, which led to their first kiss.
“And that was it,” Christian said.
“We hung out the rest of the summer,” Gia added.

The last several months have brought big changes for the longtime couple. In late 2025, Gia moved out of her family’s Montville home and into her own apartment in Jersey City, which was significantly further from Christian’s place.
“We didn’t move in together because me and my brother started a junk removal company,” Christian explained in the February 8 podcast episode. “Right now, it’s only one truck.”
Gia admitted that living alone was “lonely” at times, as she now sees Christian less frequently.
“It’s more easier for you to come, I think, on the weekends,” she told her beau. “During the week, it’s definitely hard… We’re both working; we’re focusing on what we have to do.”

However, the pair insisted their communication was solid, as they had daily video calls and tried to make the most of their time together.

“We just sit on FaceTime and don’t say anything,” Gia told her listeners. “I think that keeps you connected in a way… I just think communication, talking to each other, and just trying to see each other as much as you can. But then when you actually are seeing each other, I think it’s very important to make it special, and not do the same thing over and over again… make the time you’re with each other exciting.”

So, what’s next for the young lovebirds? Christian said he expected to move in with Gia sometime down the road, preferably into a home they purchased together. He also said he wanted to start a family within the next few years.
“I’ve told you a million times I want to be a young dad,” he told Gia. “You want to wait until you’re 30.”
Gia told Christian that 30 was “not that old,” and that she didn’t want to have children in her 20s.
“Listen, buddy, you have to do so many things before you have kids,” she said. “You need to propose to me, we need to get married, we need to figure out our living situation. There’s a lot more steps.”

Gia addressed a potential engagement during a February 11 Q&A episode. The Jersey daughter recalled a recent incident in which her little sister Gabriella Giudice mistakenly believed that Christian had popped the question without telling Gia’s family. She said it all began when she tried on her mom Teresa Giudice’s wedding ring — a moment that her other sister Milania Giudice captured on camera.
“Everyone literally thought I was engaged,” Gia said. “Gabriella called us because she’s abroad right now. Gabriella called my mom and was like, ‘‘What the [expletive] is going on? Why didn’t Christian tell us?’… She was like, ‘How didn’t he inform us that he was doing this?’ I was like, ‘There’s no way you thought this was real. Of course, you would’ve known.’”

Christian spoke about a potential proposal elsewhere in the Q&A, saying he would like to do it at a “beach” in front of Gia’s entire family, including her Bahamas-based dad, Joe Giudice.
“Everyone would have to be there,” he said. “The Bahamas would be a good place… with, like, fireworks coming up.”
Gia then asked Christian what he envisioned for the proposal setup, specifically the floral arrangements.
“How would you do the flowers? Flowers are a big part of a proposal,” she said.
“Flowers?” Christian asked. “But then you know it’s coming. What if it was a surprise [proposal]? I don’t want you to know at all. I want the photographer to be hidden.”
