Kandi Burruss Opens Up About Todd Tucker’s Career Amid Split

Kandi Burruss is sharing new details about Todd Tucker’s latest career move, which stars some familiar faces from The Real Housewives of Atlanta inner circle. The new info comes amid their divorce.

Kandi appeared on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen on Sunday, Feb. 22, where the RHOA alum confirmed that Todd’s most recent film, Don’t Bring Your Man to Atlanta, includes appearances from RHOA Season 13 bachelorette party entertainer, Michael “Bolo” Bolwaire, in a role. “Yes, and Shamea [Morton Mwangi],” Kandi said.

Don’t Bring Your Man to Atlanta, that’s the movie,” she confirmed. “It’s actually Todd’s movie, just to be clear. He’s the producer; he wrote it. But yes, I did help facilitate in reaching out to certain people to be like, ‘Hey, go and do this movie.'”

And she was particularly proud of Bolo’s performance in the movie. “Bolo did an amazing job. And his career has really taken off as an actor,” she continued. “Michael — I guess we should call him now, not just Bolo — he’s killing it right now and I’m very proud of him.”

Don’t Bring Your Man to Atlanta is a thriller film that Todd directed, wrote, and produced. The film, according to IMDb, is about: “James and Leah pursue their dreams in Atlanta, but emotion pulls James into a dangerous nightlife. As Leah fights to maintain their love, betrayal emerges, sparking her transformation from heartbroken to vengeful, unraveling their lives.”

Shamea plays the role of Leah, while Bolo (or Michael) plays the role of Cade. Todd is currently showing the film at the TTucker Theaters, which provides an “immersive experience” into Atlanta’s nightlife that “makes you feel like you’re part of the movie.”

Kandi Burruss shares updates on her career on Broadway

Kandi also provided a major update on her current Broadway run. The “Don’t Think I’m Not” singer is currently performing in & Juliet on Broadway through March 8 in the role of Angélique. And, Kandi told Andy Cohen on Sunday’s WWHL that she is loving her time being back on Broadway amid her divorce from Todd.

“My favorite part is because every day the whole show feels like joy,” she admitted. “So to be going through a time in my life that feels crazy, every day I have to dance and sing and have fun, and we sing hits from the top to the bottom so the whole audience is into it the entire time.”

As Kandi continues to focus on her career, she told Andy that she and Todd have been going “back and forth” through their divorce, which can be a little hard on them. Especially since things can get “a little intense” between them. “But, for the most part, even if we argue, we still try to be nice to each other,” she said.
