“Today” show host Savannah Guthrie confirmed that the reward for her mother’s return is being offered in cash, and that tipsters have the option of remaining anonymous.
In an Instagram post Friday, Savannah Guthrie that the reward is for the recovery of her her 84-year-mother, Nancy Guthrie, who hasn’t been seen in nearly a month.
“You can call the 1-800 tip line. You can be anonymous if you want,” Savannah said.
“Please – be the one that brings her home.”
The family reward will be provided as long as Nancy’s recovery is “consistent with FBI criteria for payment of its reward in this case,” which can be found here.
Specifically, according to NBC correspondent Liz Kreutz, a qualifying tipster can meet law enforcement in a “neutral location” and will not be required to bring identification.
As CrimeOnline previously reported, investigators believe someone took Nancy Guthrie against her will from her Catalina Foothills home.
She was last seen January 31 after her family dropped her off at home, following dinner. They reported her missing the following day after she failed to show up for church.
Authorities have yet to identify any suspects, but the FBI released information pertaining to an armed man spotted on Nancy’s Nest doorbell camera. According to agents, he:
- Stands 5 feet, 9 inches to 5 feet, 10 inches tall
- Has a medium to average build
- Had on black gloves, a mask and
- Had on a black 25-liter Ozark Trail backpack, that is sold exclusively at Walmart
- Had on clothing likely bought at Walmart, although likely not exclusive at Walmart

Meanwhile, the FBI is offering its own reward of up to $100,000 for information that leads “to the location of Nancy Guthrie and/or the arrest and conviction of anyone involved in her disappearance.”

Anyone with information is urged to contact the FBI tip line at 1-800-CALL-FBI (1-800-225-5324). Tipsters can also contact the Pima County Sheriff’s Department tip line at 520-351-4900.
