The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills cast member Erika Jayne pulled back the curtain to share new details on her divorce from her first husband, Thomas Zizzo.
On the heels of Rachel Zoe revealing to her sons that she’d filed for divorce from Rodger Berman during Season 15, Episode 12, a producer on The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills After Show asked Erika, as well as Kyle Richards and Sutton Stracke, to revisit their own post-separation conversations with their children.
Erika went first, briefly opening up about her sit-down with son Tommy Zizzo, who is now is his early 30s and working as a police officer in Los Angeles.
“My son asked why his—um, my first husband and I got a divorce, because he never saw us fight,” Erika said, prompting Kyle to describe her rare statement on the subject as “interesting.”

Details on Erika Jayne’s relationship with first husband, Thomas Zizzo
During a BravoCon panel in 2023, Erika revealed that her first husband was a DJ whom she met at a club in New York City, where she was living at the time. The couple welcomed their only son, Thomas Jr., aka Tommy, in 1992, before eventually divorcing in 1996 after roughly five years of marriage.
Shortly afterward, Erika relocated to California to pursue a career in the entertainment industry and eventually married Tom Girardi in 1999. The two split in 2020 but have not yet divorced.

During an August 2024 episode of the Two Ts in a Pod podcast, Erika spilled more details on her relationship with her first husband, as well as how they co-parented Tommy, post-split.
“My first husband I, actually, had a great relationship — probably a better relationship divorced than married, and I’m very grateful [that] … we’re still friends to this day,” she explained to podcast co-host Teddi Mellencamp.
When Teddi asked for Erika’s two cents on how to achieve a similarly strong co-parenting relationship with an ex, the RHOBH ‘Wife answered, “I think that two people have to come and put the s–t [aside].”
Inside Erika Jayne’s new relationship with John McPhee
Following an abusive relationship with an unnamed person after her split from Tom, Erika has since moved on with new boyfriend John McPhee. She previously shared on RHOBH Season 15 that she met the retired U.S. Army Special Operations Sergeant Major backstage at London’s Mighty Hoopla festival in the late spring of 2025.
In a recent interview with The Daily Dish, she exclusively revealed that son Tommy has met John, adding that the introduction “went well.”
“You know, John’s a hero to many … John is an intimidating guy, so yeah,” Erika continued. “It went beautifully.”
Erika went on to share more updates on what her relationship with John looks like today. “Everything is nice, and everything is going great,” she gushed, before detailing a recent trip they took together.
“Last week, we were in Arlington Cemetery and laid wreaths,” Erika continued. “We like to do all kinds of fun stuff.”
One thing the couple has yet to do, however, is spend time with her RHOBH castmates. After Erika said on the show that she had not introduced John to her fellow diamond holders, she confirmed during a February 2026 appearance on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen that that he had still “met no one” from the cast.
