The couple announced their separation at the end of February 2024, and Brittany filed for divorce on Aug. 25, 2024. But she’s now taking more steps to remove the former SUR bartender from her life, while providing hints at why they divorced.

“My titties won’t be here for long,” she shares during the trailer, and adds, “Last little piece of Jax? Gone.” In case you need a refresher, Brittany got a breast augmentation during Vanderpump Rules Season 4. Her then-boyfriend Jax paid for the procedure. Her “mommy makeover” is shown during the trailer, and included a breast implant revision and lift.

Brittany also pulls back the curtain on her dating life during the Season 3 trailer, and reveals her new beau, Brandon Hanson, who according to her BravoTV.com bio is “her old Kentucky flame.” As they FaceTime each other, both declare they miss the other. Brittany later points out a stark difference between her new man and Jax.

“Brandon is like very emotionally stable, and I’m like—“ she tells her friends, while making a shocked face.

Brittany Cartwright reveals why she filed for divorce from Jax Taylor

Brittany’s decision to file for divorce played out on The Valley Season 2, as she met with a divorce attorney. She described Jax as having “blow-ups” and “aggressive” behavior, using the time Jax found her messages to another man as one example. She also showed her lawyer Jax’s “rage texts” that he sent while away in an inpatient mental health facility. Additionally, Brittany revealed that Jax was watching her from afar on their home security cameras.

But there was another component to her decision to divorce: their troubled financial situation. Brittany discovered Jax had not paid the mortgage on their home in several months, despite the fact that he lived there as Brittany lived in a rental property. It left them both on the hook for the debt, as both of their names were on the mortgage.

“If he hasn’t paid it since then, [the debt] could be up to, like, $100,000 by now,” she said during Season 2, Episode 7, then declared, “We’re done. There’s no Jax and Brittany anymore.”

On top of that, their monthly mortgage rate had gone up because Jax’s taxes went unpaid for six years. “My mortgage used to be around $8,000. I pay $18,000 now. Because of his taxes,” she said on The Valley After Show.

Are Jax Taylor and Brittany Cartwright officially divorced yet?

Are Brittany Cartwright and Brandon Hanson still dating?

Although Brittany’s romance with Brandon will play out during The Valley Season 3, she announced in October 2025 the two had called it quits. During an interview with Page Six’s Virtual Reali-Tea, she shared that he was a person in her home state of Kentucky that she had “known for a long time,” before her Bravo days.

“The long distance and the pressure and everything, his obligations, it was just too much,” she described as the reason for their split. She also hinted her legal limbo with Jax is holding her back from a full commitment.

“Honestly, I think once my divorce is final, it’s going to open new doors for me in a weird way,” Brittany said on Lala Kent’s Untraditionally Lala podcast. “A lot of stuff I do is in private.”

Brittany Cartwright shares an update on co-parenting with Jax Taylor

Going into The Valley Season 3, Brittany is “thriving as a single mom to Cruz,” according to her BravoTV.com bio.

“My son is so amazing, and I feel like … I always wanted to be a mom,” she shared during a Jan. 13 appearance on the show California Live on NBC Los Angeles. “He’s so cute. He is my little everything. He’s my best friend, and, you know, honestly, I just love having him with me all the time. I just love it.”

Brittany revealed co-parenting her four-year-old son with Jax is improving.

“I think we are getting better at it,” she said, but added she still takes on most of the responsibility. “I take care of pretty much everything by myself, so, you know, [Jax] is doing better and a lot of things like that. He definitely loves his son, but, you know, I just get things done.”

She’s previously acknowledged that navigating co-parenting would always “be a challenge” during a Sept. 2025 interview with Extra

“Cruz is the most important thing to both of us,” she said, and added, “We’re trying to get to a common ground. It’s just going to take a little bit of time to heal.”
