As Shayne Davis unpacked his recovery from addiction during the second and final part of the reunion, Lisa entered the conversation with high praise for the lone cast member who does not work at SUR. After Shayne detailed his sobriety journey, she pointed out that not all roads lead to where he is today and asked about the person who “had a positive influence” on his life.

Shayne fought back tears while explaining how he’d “always wanted to be loved and cared about,” adding that his parents loved him “the way that they could” amid their own addiction struggles. LVP, meanwhile, crossed the stage to ask why he was “so emotional” and to lend some additional words of support.

“You are just so special,” Lisa told Shayne, as several VPR cast members dabbed tears from their eyes. “I said that since I first saw you, and I don’t know that you realize how special you are. … Whatever you’ve been through, you came out the other side. If you were my son, I’d be very proud of you.”

A bit later, she added, “What you are now, where you are now, and who you are now is very successful. And when I’m telling you I love you as how I know you, I don’t think you’ve heard that enough in your life.”

When host Andy Cohen called for a lunch break, LVP approached a still-choked-up Shayne again, telling him, “You’re a wonderful young man. I’m always here for you, you know that. I’m always here for you. If you ever doubt yourself, you call me.”

Shayne Davis opened up about his addiction recovery at the Vanderpump Rules reunion

Earlier, Andy asked Shayne how he found “the strength to get sober,” at which point he shared that that was in a life-or-death scenario. “Well, I mean, it was either that or die,” Shayne explained. “It was just two options.”

He went on to detail more of his family’s issues, along with more intel on his upbringing. As Shayne explained, “I was just living very fast with a bunch of broken people who were growing up in homes like me, and I just learned to, like, kind of look out for me, really.”

He also opened up about the response he’d gotten from viewers. “At first, people were just like, oh, this guy is, like, a typical whatever, F-boy. And then, like, now there’s just been a ton of people hitting me up, talking about, ‘I got this amount of time.’ And it makes me feel like I guess I’m useful to somebody.”

Shayne concluded by noting that he was never able to increase his “actual feeling of worth” until he “started being there for other addicts.”

Lisa Vanderpump offers predictions for the VPR cast’s futures

While closing out the Season 12 reunion, Lisa made one last comment about Shayne when Andy tasked her with looking into her crystal ball and predicting the cast members’ futures.

“Well, I hope that I would see growth,” the SUR boss said. “I think being on a reality show is like looking in a very large mirror, and sometimes you don’t like what you see. I think you’re being consistent. If you’re gonna say it behind their back, you’ve gotta say it to their face.”

While addressing the cast one-by-one, LVP began by reassuring Shayne, “I think you, you’re enough.”

“They’ve been very brave in a lot of ways by being honest,” she remarked of the group as a whole. “And I think that’s the greatest thing, so thank you.”

Now that Season 12 of Vanderpump Rules is officially wrapped, don’t miss Lisa’s major first that Andy pointed out at the reunion.
