Socialite Kimi Murdoch made a big first impression on Ladies of London: The New Reign, showcasing her cheeky sense of humor and willingness to spill all the hottest tea — all while sipping on a flute of bubbly.

“My special skill is drinking champagne,” Kimi joked in an exclusive interview with The Daily Dish. “It’s the lube that allows me to slide through life.”

By Episode 3, some of Kimi’s castmates worried she was avoiding being “vulnerable” with the group, as they all attempted to get to know each other better during a day trip to a local vineyard. Her longtime friend Martha Sitwell assured them that Kimi is “amazing,” however, and promised they would learn more about her in due time.

Kimi, meanwhile, had plenty to share about her life with viewers. As she continues to make a splash on Ladies of London, read on to find out everything you need to know about Kimi’s life.

Who is Kimi Murdoch from Ladies of London: The New Reign?

“A Haitian American shipping heiress with magnetic charm, Kimi Murdoch is an antiques dealer and fixture of London’s elite,” according to her BravoTV.com bio. “Behind her sharp wit and bold exterior, she navigates single motherhood and deeply guarded emotions.”

Details on Kimi Murdoch’s background and early life

Originally from Miami, Kimi is one of the group’s American expats but has lived in London for the past 25 years. In Episode 3, she opened up about being raised in both southern Florida and Haiti by her father, whom the show credited as a “shipping entrepreneur.”

By Kimi’s account, her parents had a “very fractured relationship,” and eventually split when she was “very young.”

“I think my mother blamed my brother and I for everything, for the divorce, which was a bit weird because we were just kids,” she shared in a confessional. “And then when I was 10 or 11, my father took us to live with him in Haiti. My father was, you know, associated with people in the regime of Duvalier in business ways. And then we moved to Miami. We didn’t talk to my mother for, like, 10 years. And then they never spoke ever again.”

Kimi continued, “I think my mother had her own personal issues. She was young. She was in her 20s. She was probably angry, realized she married the wrong guy. … I don’t feel I’ve ever had a very strong maternal presence in my life. When I was young, it was probably why I didn’t want to have kids. I didn’t want to f–k them up.”

Inside Kimi Murdoch’s family life with her ex-husband and two children

As Kimi also revealed on Ladies of London, she met her British now-ex-husband, Stuart, at a hotel bar in Miami. He proposed three weeks later, and they had a “fabulous” wedding at Highclere Castle, which was a Downton Abbey filming location.

“I came to London originally because I got married,” Kimi explained to The Daily Dish. “And I was also studying art and antiques at the time. So, I stayed here for a very long time.”

Kimi and Stuart were married for 23 years and currently co-parent their 9-year-old twins, Amadeus and Mimi.

“When I decided to have a child, Stuart and I were slightly estranged,” Kimi explained on Ladies of London. “We both kind of went our own ways a little bit. But I think I wanted a child; he wanted a child. And so, we were kind of together for so long, we were like let’s just do it together. Then, two came by accident.”

Following the twins’ births, the couple separated “for quite a few years,” and Kimi said she raised the children “solo” for four years, before Stuart came back into the picture.

“Now he’s a little more involved,” Kimi continued. “He’s very kind to the children and he’s very loving. And they really like him — well, I’d say love him. So, I’m trying to allow that relationship to flourish, regardless of any, you know, bad feelings.”

Kimi Murdoch opens up about single motherhood

Though Kimi is also a trained chef, in addition to her experience as an antiques dealer, she described her current career as being a “full-time mother” to her “amazing” twins.

“It’s a lot of work,” she admitted in her interview. “And I don’t have to go to the gym, so I save a lot of money.”

On Ladies of London, she gushed that son Amadeus as “incredibly gregarious,” before joking, “I think he might be straight, and I’m really disappointed.” Mimi, meanwhile, is “the kindest soul you have ever met,” according to Kimi.

“I’m pretty hands-on as a mom,” Kimi told a producer amid their pottery-painting outing during Episode 3. “Mimi obviously is on the spectrum, and so she’s behind people on a lot of things. I try and bring her into anything that’s hands-on that she enjoys. … She’s a really lively character when she enjoys doing something. And she has a heart of gold.”

In the meantime, get more details on what to expect from Kimi and her castmates on Ladies of London: The New Reign.
