FBI Obtains New Still Images, Nancy Guthrie Search Continues – Crime Online

The FBI recovered thumbnail images from motion-activated cameras surrounding Nancy’s Catalina Foothills home, ABC News reports.

Although sources told the outlet that the images didn’t show suspicious activity, the Pima County Sheriff’s Office stated March 13 that authorities are analyzing “various forms of evidence in the Nancy Guthrie case, including material from laboratories as well as images and videos captured by cameras.”

As CrimeOnline previously reported, 84-year-old Nancy Guthrie was last seen on January 31 after family members dropped her off at home after dinner.

They reported her missing the following day after she failed to show up for church.

FOX News Digital reports that the still images were taken “from three separate cameras,” in the days leading up to her disappearance.

“At this time, we will not comment on the details or status of this analysis,” the sheriff’s office added.

Authorities have not made the images public, but the images reportedly showed multiple people in the both Nancy Guthrie’s side yard and back yard.

The FBI took the cameras into evidence. The front doorbell camera was missing, although the FBI obtained footage from it, showing a masked man at Guthrie’s door.

The doorbell camera had reportedly been disconnected at around 1:47 a.m., with footage somehow capturing the suspect at 2:12 a.m.

Images of suspect in Nancy Guthrie’s disappearance appear to come from two separate visits to her home/FBI

“What it sounds like to me…is that the camera was popped off from inside of the house,” Director of Operations for USPA Nationwide Security, Brian Fitzgibbons, told Nancy Grace on “Crime Stories” last week.

“So, it didn’t register seeing anybody.”

“When it was moved at 2:12, it actually sees a person….The doorbell camera was disconnected off the base. Twenty-five minutes later, that camera is moved and it’s pointing in the direction that it actually registers contact with a person.”

On Friday, Pima County Sheriff Chris Nanos told NBC that he believes the suspect could strike again, and that Guthrie had been targeted.

A motive has not yet been revealed, although authorities previously stated that the motive is known.

Over $1 million is being offered in the case.

  • $102,500: 88-CRIME
  • $100,000: 1-800-CALL-FBI
  • $1 million from the Guthrie family: 1-800-CALL-FBI (tips can be anonymous)

Tipsters can also contact the Pima County Sheriff’s Department tip line at 520-351-4900.

Homeowners in the area are encouraged to submit relevant security footage through the PCSD Evidence Submission Portal.
