Kristen Doute and Janet Caperna’s ongoing feud is still going strong on The Valley Season 3, and Lala Kent is giving her hot takes on the matter during the above preview of the season premiere, airing Wednesday, April 1 at 8/7c.
“We’re talking about friendships that have been decades long,” the Vanderpump Rules alum points out to producers during her Valley debut. “Of course, when you have history with someone, there’s going to be good s—t and bad s—t. Let’s focus on the good s—t.”
Elsewhere in the preview, Kristen’s fiancé, Luke Broderick, reveals that he and Kristen haven’t made any progress in fixing their friendship with Janet and her husband, Jason Caperna, since The Valley Season 2 reunion. “Like, Janet, Jason—there’s been no communication whatsoever,” he tells Kristen. “How can a friendship repair when there’s zero communication over the course of a year?”
Kristen also seemingly closes the door on a relationship with Janet. “She’s s—t on too many of my friends. She kind of just doesn’t exist to me,” she declares to Luke.
As Janet and Lala shop during the preview, Janet confesses to Lala, “It’s a tough situation. I want peace, but I don’t want to stir stuff up and then have it be a big dramatic thing.”
Lala is on board with the no drama mantra, answering, “Yeah, I’m trying to have fun. I’ve been chilling for two years, playing mom, covered in spit up, and I want everyone to f—king get along.”
Janet Caperna and Kristen Doute explain drama from Brittany Cartwright’s pool party
The issue at hand in the preview involves a recent run-in between Kristen and Janet at Brittany Cartwright’s pool party, soon after Kristen gave birth to Kaia Lily, her daughter with Luke.
“That interaction at Brittany’s was not great,” Janet admits to Lala. “It went from, ‘Aw, Kristen has a baby on her boob,’ to get me out of here as quick as I can.”
Kristen explains to producers that she didn’t expect to run into Janet that day. “Brittany told me that Janet was 99 percent not gonna come,” she shares. “Especially if she knew I was going to be there. She was probably going to cancel, and I shouldn’t even worry about it. And next thing I know, Janet shows up.”
Janet remembers Kristen saying, “‘Brittany, why is she here! She doesn’t deserve to be here!’” before she realized Kristen was talking about her. “Took me a second to be like, ‘Oh, is she talking about me?’” Janet recalls. “My entire being told me like, ‘Just leave. Get out of here.’ So I just scooped Cam, grabbed our bag, and turned around and walked away.”

“Good. I love that for you,” Lala says. “Did Brittany step in when that happened, or no?”
“She didn’t say anything, and then afterwards I texted her and was just like, ‘What the f—k?’” Janet replies.
It’s not the first time Brittany has been caught in the middle of Kristen and Janet, and Janet reveals how unhappy she is with Brittany. “You invite me over with my kid, and then that happens, and you can’t say, like, ‘Hey, stop it,’” Janet complains to Lala.
Producers also revealed a series of texts Janet sent Brittany, including Janet sharing how her son is affected. “Cameron is crying because I just spent the last hour telling him we were swimming. What the f—k was that???” one text reads.
Kristen Doute and Janet Caperna’s long-standing feud, explained
In case you need a refresher, Janet and Jason first decided to ice Kristen out of the group after an explosive Season 1, Episode 6 argument between Kristen and Michelle Saniei and Jesse Lally, who were married at the time.
“So, for me, personally, she’s not invited to my sh-t,” Janet explained. She later added that she was taking space from Kristen due to her pregnancy.

“With Kristen, we’ve been friends for many years,” Janet told The Daily Dish in May 2024. “I will always love and care about Kristen. I want to see her do well. You know, I think when I was pregnant, and we were filming, I had to have a boundary up, just because I couldn’t handle much stress then.”
Another sticking point in Kristen and Janet’s falling out came over comments made during Janet’s pregnancy.
“After the summer, you went really hard. You did a podcast and said, ‘I don’t want your baby to come to full term. I didn’t support your pregnancy,’” Kristen told Janet during the Season 2 premiere.
Although it was Zack Wickham who made the comments, and Janet apologized to Kristen for “roping [her] in with Zack’s demonic behavior,” Kristen was upset.
“Janet tried to paint me as a complete asshole liar all of last summer,” she told producers at the time. “Just own your own feelings instead of running away.”
Their feud culminated in “weird tension” between Janet and Kristen during the Season 2 cast trip to Hawaii, which ended with Janet and Jason skipping out on Luke and Kristen’s engagement party. Kristen and Janet also had a heated exchange during her post-engagement Hawaiian boat cruise.
However, Kristen decided to apologize for the boat moment during the reunion. “If I can just start this off with an apology to Janet for just the crap that was flying out of my mouth,” she said, noting her “high-pitched screaming.” “That was just so not my best moment.”
She added, “I looked at Luke right after we watched it, and I said, ‘Was that crazy?’ And he goes, ‘Yeah, kinda.’ I was like, ‘Thank you for your honesty. OK, note to self.'”
Where do Kristen Doute and Lala Kent stand today?
Although Kristen and Lala had a falling out in 2023 when Lala accused Kristen of failing to defend her during a live podcast taping, they’ve since mended their friendship.
“We had a road to get back to a friendship,” Kristen shared on the November 30, 2025 episode of her podcast Balancing Act with Kristen Doute and Luke Broderick. “And, for me, it was how genuine she was, and it was how hard she tried, and how she was very humble and willing to admit fault and apologize for things that hurt my feelings.”
“It was, like, now I have so much history with her, 10 years of friendship that we’ve grown together so much, that she’s a mom of two girls, and I want that friendship. That’s a very valuable friendship to me,” she shared.
Don’t miss Brittany sharing details on her dating life and divorce from Jax Taylor that’ll play out on The Valley Season 3.
