Dorit Reveals Why She Left Kyle and Erika Stranded in Italy

After a heated argument between Kyle Richards, Erika Jayne, and Dorit Kemsley in Italy, the latter got in a car without Erika and Kyle, leaving them stranded. On The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills After Show, Dorit cleared the air about why she deserted the others.

“I mean, the car ride there, I had my suspicions,” she explained of Kyle and Erika’s invitation to sightsee and grab gelato during The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills Season 15, Episode 15. “And then when this, this, this? I was like, ‘You know what? I’m out.’”

She felt set up by the others. “There was already this atmosphere,” she shared.

The two-on-one nature of the discussion led to her breaking point. “Kyle makes it nearly impossible [to talk alone]. She makes sure she has someone there that’s going to interject, that’s going to keep her from being able to actually answer the question directly,” Dorit explained. “And that’s what was happening. There was a frustration. I could see at that moment—I got up very quickly. I already got it.”

“Erika, she got pulled to the dark side [by Kyle]. It was very clear,” Dorit added.

The others were shocked by her decision. “I did not expect her to steal the production van and go away,” Erika said on the After Show. “But, I don’t think Dorit is in a place where she wants to hear anything. I don’t know why she thinks I should stay out of it.”

She later continued, “She almost, like, turned on me, and I was like, ‘Whoa, whoa, whoa!” she said, and later during the After Show added, “I care for Dorit. I want a friendship with Dorit…but there are limits. And this is my limit with that. Like, you can’t tell me to be quiet and s—t like that—like, no.”

When Bozoma Saint John asked Dorit if she was “planning to send the car back for them,” Dorit answered, “They had a car.” (But the March 26 RHOBH episode shows Kyle and Erika waiting nearly a half hour for another car to pick them up, after they had to call for one.)

Kyle Richards and Erika Jayne’s beef with Dorit Kemsley in Italy, explained

For Dorit, the root of the problem stems back to “trust issues” with Kyle from Season 14. “The whole text message with PK thing. This year, we’re supposed to be working back. Getting to a place where we do trust one another,” she pointed out. “And how am I supposed to trust someone, who’s going behind my back in my most vulnerable time, talking bad about me?”

During RHOBH Season 15, Kyle has made no secret of her own feelings about Dorit’s behavior, and has spoken at various times throughout the season to Boz, Erika, Kathy HiltonSutton StrackeAmanda Frances, and Rachel Zoe.

“Dorit’s behavior lately has just been so strange. She’s either late, or always on her phone,” Kyle said during the March 26 episode. “I’m worried about her. I want to help, or get to the bottom of this.”

Later, Dorit called Kyle out on her conversations with others in the group: “All I know is, I’m being told that Kyle has these conversations saying that I’m acting erratic, and brings up being late, and spending [money].”

“I’m saying nothing that the rest of the group has not said,” Kyle argued.

Dorit later added that she just wanted Kyle to own “her own opinion,” and to stop being “such a sh—y friend by bringing my other friends into it.”

During the gelato outing, Dorit’s breaking point came when she tried to address Kyle directly. “Listen, I want to have a conversation about the fact that I feel you have a real tough time showing me support,” she said during the March 26 episode, referencing her pending divorce from Paul “PK” Kemsley. But Kyle pointed out that Dorit doesn’t ask about Kyle’s own separation from Mauricio Umansky.

“How do you measure support?” Dorit then asked Kyle, but it was Erika who answered, “No, I think the question is how do you measure it, because you don’t feel it.”

Dorit became visibly upset over Erika “interjecting” herself into the conversation, but Erika insisted, “Yeah, I’m gonna still do it. I’m not gonna stop talking, Dorit.”

“This has been a f—king ambush,” Dorit complained in her confessional. “Why the f—k do these girls think that they can do this? I’m not staying for this s—t.”

Dorit walked away, calling, “Let’s go!” But when Kyle and Erika refused, she went back to the car alone, and left alone.

“A friendship shouldn’t be this hard,” Kyle pointed out on the After Show of the disastrous conversation. “I just don’t need that. I just don’t.”

When Dorit, Kyle and Erika returned to the villa after their argument and the other ‘Wives heard what happened, Boz and Rachel had concerns that they were brought into the fight.

“I don’t appreciate being dragged into this whole conversation, Kyle,” Boz shared in her confessional. “Because I had a concern, that I only expressed because you were talking about your concerns, and guess what? I took my concern to Dorit.”

Rachel added, “I have said, ‘Okay, she’s late. Okay, she’s this.’ But I am not gonna jump in on the ‘I am worried about your finances. I’m worried about your spending. I’m worried that you’re not mentally stable.'” She told producers, “I don’t know that to be true. I think there has to be a very clear line of ‘Who is you all? Who is we all?’ And I’m not part of the all.”

Dorit shared another reason she ended up leaving without Kyle and Erika. “I left because it didn’t feel like it was conversational. It didn’t feel gentle. It felt deflective. It felt aggressive,” Dorit explained to Kyle over dinner with the group. “What I said to you was, ‘I want to talk about our friendship, how you’re feeling,’ and you kept bringing it back to the group.”

ICYMI, Kyle teased why the upcoming RHOBH Season 15 reunion was “rough.”
