Kyle Richards Confronts Kathy Hilton After She Challenges Her

Kyle Richards was looking for some sisterly support from Kathy Hilton in the aftermath of her heated confrontation with Natalie Swanston Fuller on The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills.

The morning after Kyle’s argument with Natalie, she sat down with Kathy and Erika Jayne during Season 15, Episode 15, to unpack the previous night’s drama. Kyle doubled down on her accusation that Natalie was a “liar” for failing to repeat her previous confirmation of what Bozoma Saint John said about Amanda Frances wearing a mask during an earlier group outing in Florence, Italy.

“But are you sure of that? It’s a very strong word,” Kathy remarked while challenging Kyle amid their debrief.

“Kathy, I am your sister,” Kyle shot back. “I am telling you she told me something, and then last night she changed her [tune]. So, who do you want to believe? Me? Or do you want to believe this person you just met?”

That’s when Kathy relented, saying, “OK, then I believe you.”

Kyle, for her part, replied, “OK. So, is it a strong word? Yeah. But if you’re f–kin’ lying, then you’re f–kin’ lying.”

Kyle and Kathy had plenty more to say about their brief disagreement on The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills After Show. While offering her perspective, Kyle insisted that she doesn’t typically expect blind loyalty before breaking down why she did not believe that’s what she was doing in this situation.

“I’m not someone who thinks if you’re my friend, you have to back me up no matter what,” she elaborated. “But it’s easier for Kathy, as my sister, you know, if she doesn’t want to make waves, you know, to defend someone… I’m gonna be her sister no matter what, but you can’t sit there and, you know, not be honest about what you saw.”

Kyle continued, “It’s being loyal to the story. … We all saw the same thing. Wrong is wrong. Like, so I just wanted honesty in that moment, regardless of who she was, worried it would piss off.”

Kathy, meanwhile, had her own explanation for initially defending Natalie: “I always say how I feel and, you know, she was very upset,” Kathy offered. “But I had been sitting with [Natalie], and I felt really bad. … Obviously, my sister’s my sister, she’s my first priority. But I’m not, you know, gonna have somebody really hurt and upset. I can’t do that.” 

Kathy went on to reveal that she and Natalie “got close on that trip” to Italy, adding, “When I saw how upset she was, I was like, somebody’s gotta help her. … I don’t want her to have a terrible experience.”

As Natalie, who was seated next to Kathy on the RHOBH After Show, chimed in, “And I really appreciated it. You were very kind to me.”

Elsewhere in the After Show clip, Kathy confirmed that filming RHOBH had “for sure” brought her and Kyle closer together.

“I wouldn’t see her. She’s busy,” Kathy said, before revealing that husband Rick Hilton had encouraged her to sign on as a friend of the show. “He said, you know, ‘It’s a nice opportunity for you and Kyle to spend time together.’ … I’m at a point in my life where my kids are raised. Like, what else am I gonna do? And it’s fun. It’s really fun.”

Kathy also underscored the fact that she turns into a “mama bear” if anyone “comes after” Kyle.

Separately, Erika remarked that Kyle and Kathy seemed to be “tight,” these days.

“I mean, we obviously spend a lot more time together than we would normally have before,” Kyle replied, before referencing her and Kathy’s past estrangement. “I think that after what happened, we so badly don’t ever want to go there again. I mean, you know what it’s like if, you know, you have family, it’s very painful. I’m grateful that we’re never gonna go there again. Does anybody have any wood? I’m gonna knock on wood.”

After further sharing that Kathy had been “very supportive” amid her ongoing separation from Mauricio Umansky, Kyle added, “Doing this together, obviously, has helped too, you know? … She never did girls’ trips before. And now, she’ll come on a trip and leave Rick.”
