Below Deck Mediterranean alums Katie Flood and Malia White are still so close to this day. The yachties and BFFs first met while working together on Below Deck Mediterranean Season 6, and now Katie is sharing new information about their friendship and her career in yachting.
Katie held a question and answer session on her Instagram Story on March 25, where she was asked if she was still working in yachting and if she’s met Malia’s daughter, who was born in early February. However, Katie admitted that she has traded in her sea legs for working on land. “Currently no, I do miss the industry so much,” she wrote. “I honestly love it just not the working hours.”
She then proceeded to address her friendship with Malia, sharing new details about their bond over a photo of her long distance bestie. “Yes, we are trying to make a plan to see each other,” she noted. “I was planning to head to the UK the same week it all kicked off in the Middle East, then had to come back to New Zealand. We spent pretty much every day together for over two years I miss her so much I can’t wait to meet her beautiful girl.”
Malia White reveals how Katie Flood played a role in her relationship
Katie also played a major role in Malia’s relationship with her partner, Robert. Malia spoke with The Daily Dish in February, where she revealed that Katie introduced her to Robert, who also works in the yachting industry.
“We actually met in a shipyard. And we were set up on a first date by Katie Flood. They knew each other from working together before on a boat,” Malia explained. “We were set up on a date. And she was like, ‘You know, I think you guys might hit it off.’ And she was right. So yeah, we really have Katie Flood to thank for this.”

Katie Flood opens up about her friendship with Natalya Scudder
Katie also still keeps in touch with Below Deck Mediterranean alum, Natalya Scudder. She took to her Instagram Story during the Q&A where she revealed that they both still have their apartment in Dubai, but are both currently traveling around the world at the moment.
“We still have our apartment over in Dubai together, but I’m back in New Zealand and she’s back in Australia for now,” she admitted. “We’ll see each other soon back in our cozy little home.”
