Questions about Amanda Batula and Kyle Cooke’s finances swirled on Summer House, even back when their eventual separation was still a hypothetical — but increasingly distinct — possibility.
During Amanda’s “party debrief” with Ciara Miller, Lindsay Hubbard, and Mia Calabrese in Season 10, Episode 9, her castmates brought up an earlier conversation they’d had about Kyle being on the hook financially amid Loverboy’s decline.
As Ciara recounted, Kyle apparently only had “three months of payroll left,” and had told Ben Waddell that he was “personally responsible for $2.1 million.” As Lindsay, meanwhile, pointed out, Amanda and Kyle also “never signed a prenup,” before adding, “I don’t know how that affects you.”
Amanda, meanwhile, admitted that she didn’t “have answers” to the ladies’ questions.

“I feel like I’m kind of just… in limbo, numb to it, compartmentalizing,” Amanda explained. “But, like, we have separate bank accounts. Like, even when we got married, it never became a partnership. Like, it’s always been him, he does his thing, and, like, then I do mine. But I know, like, whatever’s happening right now is not good.”
She elaborated to a producer, “When Kyle took out the small business loan, it was not a conversation he had with me. It, like, happened, and then he told me about it. This man’s an entrepreneur, he’s a businessman, he went to business school. Like, why would I ever question his business decisions, ever? I don’t know anything. I know nothing. I do art, OK?”
Kyle Cooke confirms Loverboy is in danger of bankruptcy and “folding”
Earlier during Kyle’s birthday party, Carl Radke took the opportunity to “clear the air” about him not investing in Soft Bar, despite his early contribution toward Loverboy’s launch. “I was just, like, a little sad about it, to be honest,” Carl told Kyle. “Having you involved in some way is important to me.”
Kyle, for his part, said that he didn’t blame Carl for his reaction, adding, “You bet on me; I want to bet on you. But my wallet’s way too deep in Loverboy.”

That’s when Carl asked if Kyle’s business was truly in danger of “folding,” to which he answered in the affirmative. According to Kyle, in the last month alone, Loverboy had “lost 175 grand,” even prior to him making the monthly business loan payment. If he was unable to find another business partner, Kyle revealed, “Loverboy goes bankrupt.”
Carl asked how much longer the company could sustain itself prior to having to file for bankruptcy, at which point Kyle informed him of just how dire the situation was.
“At our current rate, that would give us three [months],” Kyle elaborated. “Bro, it’s like the most stressful thing you can imagine. I don’t think Amanda even understands or appreciates, like, the current state of affairs.”
Amanda Batula and Kyle Cooke agree to try couples therapy
Needless to say, Kyle’s financial stressors had also taken a toll on his and Amanda’s marriage, as he admitted to being unsure if they would still have each other, even in the “worst-case scenario” of Loverboy going bankrupt.
On the heels of their heated argument the previous night, Kyle apologized to Amanda after his party wrapped. While just scratching the surface of their marital issues, they both conceded that their relationship was in “trouble,” but Amanda suggested they table the discussion for another time when they were “both fully sober.”
The next day, they continued their conversation, during which Amanda acknowledged, “I know that, like, you’re under a lot of stress, you’re under a lot of pressure. I know that, like, sometimes it’s not me that’s making you feel that way, and you’re just, like, at a breaking point with other stuff.”
Kyle responded, “There are times where I don’t think you care. How come we’re not putting in the work? … I guess that’s what is confusing for me. Like, would you go into couples therapy?”
Amanda, for her part, agreed, before they hugged it out and headed from the Hamptons back to New York City.
