Shep Rose is sharing new details about Austen Kroll and Craig Conover’s friendship. And he’s making a bold prediction about their future together. The Southern Charm cast member found himself between the two frenemies during Southern Charm Season 11 and is revealing where they stand currently.
Shep opened up about their friendships in a conversation with Decider. “The drama seems to happen when they’re not face to face,” he stated in a clip posted to Instagram on March 31. “That’s not always the case, you know?”
However, he is unsure about their future as friends. “But hey, there’s some grievances. There’s some deep-seated things that have occurred,” he added. “But I do think that there’s a lot of love there. And I keep going back to that. I don’t know if they can recapture that.”
“I understand where everyone’s coming from, but I just don’t know. There’s some stubbornness that might be an impetus for real, meaningful change,” he concluded.

Shep continued, admitting to the outlet that he is very close with Austen now, following Southern Charm Season 11 wrapping. “I talk to Austen like, two to three times a day, typically,” he noted.
He also revealed that he keeps up with the rest of the Southern Charm Season 11 cast members. “There’s a text chain that’s so fun that intermittently gets sort of ignited, and everyone is laughing, is self-deprecating. And so, I’ve never really had that before in all these years,” he admitted. “So there is a lot of affection there. And it’s kind of nice to see. So I do believe that that exists. I’ve seen it.”

Austen Kroll and Craig Conover open up about where they stand after Southern Charm Season 11
Shep, Austen, and Craig all appeared on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen on March 11, where the trio was smiling and laughing together. When host Andy Cohen asked Austen if he could be “besties again” with Craig, the Trop Hop founder was optimistic with his answer.
“Listen, I will say that it is very easy to fall back into my friendship with Craig in certain moments,” he said, as Craig sat beside him. “I find it so easy to do so…Frenemy is different than enemy.”
“Like an ex,” Shep added, laughing.

Craig also spoke with The Daily Dish, where he revealed that his and Austen’s Charleston bar and restaurant, By The Way, has become one of Charleston’s “hottest destinations.” “Austen and I are really proud of it,” he admitted.
“It’s an upscale tavern for all ages,” he added. “And that’s what Charleston was missing. And it seems like the community and tourists have really responded well to it.”
