Dominic McLaughlin (12), who hails from Scotland, has been given the honor of taking on the role of the young wizard Harry Potter, with whom Daniel Radcliffe once became world-famous.

At his side: Arabella Stanton (11), who will play the clever witch Hermione Granger, and Alastair Stout (12) as Harry’s best friend Ron Weasley. The trio beat out 32,000 competitors in an audition for the Warner Bros. production.

Together, they are now in front of the camera for the first of seven planned seasons and are being paid well for their roles, according to The Sun.

The so-called “Golden Trio” will receive £500,000 – more than $660,000 – for the first season also.

“This is a whopping payday for three kids who haven’t even hit their teenage years yet – and it’s just the beginning,” an insider said, adding, “If they keep this up, they’re on track to be multi-millionaires before they turn 18.”

For the eight-part first season, McLaughlin, Stanton, and Stout will receive more than £60,000 pounds – nearly $80,000 – per episode.

“It’s a lot of money for young kids to be handed overnight, but they’re about to become three of the most famous children in the world” – just like movie stars Emma Watson, Rupert Grint, and Daniel Radcliffe once did.

The first trailer for the show recently gave fans a peek at the new adaptation, which is expected to debut on HBO this Christmas.
