Porsha Williams is introducing her new “lady friend,” Patrice “Sway” McKinney, to The Real Housewives of Atlanta cast, and the peach-holders have some thoughts.
In a preview for RHOA Season 17, Episode 2 (airing on Sunday, April 12), Porsha can be seen introducing her “friend, Sway” to cast members Angela Oakley and Phaedra Parks at an event. “Mmmm, I love these hands!” Phaedra tells Sway after shaking her hand, as seen in the video above. “Mmmm, it’s giving Atlanta,” Phaedra adds in a confessional.
Who is this person in Porsha’s life? “This is my lady friend, Sway,” Porsha explains in a confessional. “I am what you call dating. I am in uncharted waters. You can just call me Christopher Columbus.”
While Sway gets the ladies including Drew Sidora drinks, Porsha further explains their situation: “It’s just a date night. I’m dating.”
“People had a lot to say about me being with women in the past. I had a lot to say about me being with women in the past,” she adds in a confessional. “It’s like, literally the worst kept secret.”

Porsha first revealed that she was “talking” to two different people, a man and a woman, in October. During an appearance at BravoCon 2025 one month later, Porsha admitted that she did dip “a toe or two” in the “lady pond” and was dating a specific person. “I hope that this could be something, but we’ll see,” she said during the Getting Lucky at the Love Hotel panel. “You know, still just dating.”
Later that November, Porsha took to Instagram where she posted the sweetest birthday message for Sway and revealed that they had spent Thanksgiving together with their families. “I’m just doing what feels natural,” Porsha told Entertainment Tonight in December. “I really wanted to explore that side of Porsha, and I’m glad I did because I’m really happy. I feel really good about where I am, and my family is very supportive of it.”

Sway has also opened up about her relationship with Porsha. The entrepreneur took to Instagram on Jan. 27, where she posted a photo of her and Porsha dressed to the nines. “My beautiful baby. The most kind woman in the world. You’re so kind, thoughtful, nurturing, and loving,” she wrote in the caption of the post.
“What I admire most about you is how unapologetically you live your life,” Sway continued. “You move on from your own terms, and that kind of freedom is inspiring. That’s the energy we’re staying in baby – high vibrations only ’round here! Keep being an amazing mother, daughter, sister, and friend.”

Who is Sway McKinney?
Sway is a salon suite mentor and motivational speaker who helps people “open a profitable salon suite business,” according to her Instagram bio. She also appeared on The Marvin Francois Show on Jan. 14 where she revealed that she is a “coach and mentor” in the hair industry. “So I primarily teach people how to start and scale their own salon suite business anywhere in the world without any experience, without any licensing,” she explained during the episode.
