Suspect arrested for allegedly throwing man off 25th-floor balcony

MIAMI (TCN) — Police have arrested a suspect in connection with a homicide after a man was thrown off a 25th-floor condominium balcony in February.

According to an arrest affidavit obtained by CBS News, a 911 call on Feb. 15 helped to identify the man suspected of killing Justin Zelin, 35. On the call, which Zelin made shortly before his death, he could reportedly be heard telling someone named Sasha to leave his home.

Surveillance footage from the building showed Zelin landing on the pavement, NBC Miami reports. Officers responding to the call at the condo encountered Corey Hutterli, 37, leaving. He was reportedly wearing socks without shoes. He allegedly said Zelin had freaked out and attacked him, and that he did not know where Zelin was.

Unprompted, he allegedly asked if Zelin had jumped. He allegedly would not speak with detectives, and it was noted that he had cuts and scratches on his hands and cheek, along with a patch of beard missing,

Investigators learned that Sasha was an alias used by Hutterli, CBS reports. DNA evidence later connected Hutterli to a droplet of blood found on the balcony, and the investigation revealed there was an altercation between the two men prior to Zelin’s death.

On April 8, Hutterli was arrested and charged with second-degree murder and burglary with assault or battery.

CBS reports he is currently being held without bond.
