As Brittany Cartwright and her then-beau Brandon Hanson were on a romantic date during The Valley Season 3, Episode 3, Kristen Doute revealed an unseen detail on The Valley After Show: The date was actually being observed by a familiar face.
“You know who was there having dinner? Katie Maloney with her boyfriend,” Kristen shared of the Vanderpump Rules alum and her longtime love, Nick Martin. In case you need a refresher, Katie and Nick first confirmed their relationship back in October 2024, after she divorced The Valley Season 3 newbie Tom Schwartz in 2022.
Brittany and Katie’s coincidental dates occurred at BLVD Steak in Sherman Oaks, but as shown in the April 15 episode, Brittany’s involved Brandon publicly asking her to be his girlfriend as sparklers were brought out on a dessert.
“Brittany was like, ‘Are you f—king kidding me right now?’” Kristen continued of Katie’s unaired presence. “Now, not only is this way too much, you know, she knows people at this restaurant.” Nia Sanchez Booko chimed in, “And he’s making such a spectacle.”
Where Kristen Doute and Katie Maloney’s friendship stands today
You may recall Kristen and Katie’s friendship goes back many years, and even predates the Vanderpump Rules Season 1 premiere in Jan. 2013 when the two were SUR-ving together. Although Kristen commented the two are no longer “best friends” during Bravo’s Hot Mic Podcast in Jan. 2025, she did clarify that they still have a friendship.
“Katie Maloney, I’m still close to. Are we best friends the way that we were? No,” Kristen said on the podcast. “We are in very different places in our lives…I’m closer with Katie, but it’s OK for people to just grow apart without there being some big dramatic breakup, strangely enough.”
Katie also recently provided an update on the infamous Wiches of Weho Wine that she, Kristen and Vanderpump Rules alum Stassi Schroeder first created back in 2019, including that she and Kristen have continued the wine today. Katie spoke about the wine on Tom’s podcast, Detox Retox with Tom Schwartz, in April 2025.

“So Kristen, Stassi, and I, when we started this, it was like a collab kind of thing,” she explained during the podcast. “Nocking Point does collabs with celebrities and athletes and all different people, where they’ll do just kind of a one-off. We wanted to do more than one. We wanted to do as many as possible.”
Two wine blends — Potion No. 2 Rosé by Katie Maloney and Kristen Doute and Potion No. 3 Red Blend by Katie Maloney and Kristen Doute — are still available for sale on the Nocking Point website.
Katie Maloney shares updates on her boyfriend and Something About Her
Post-Vanderpump Rules life has been sweet for Katie, who is still going strong with her boyfriend Nick. The two posted snapshots of their sun-filled vacay in the Turks and Caicos in Feb. 2026, and Katie admitted the trip turned into a “surprise 40th” birthday party for her.
“Happy birthday to the love of my life,” Nick posted on Instagram for Katie’s actual birthday in Jan. 2026. “Appreciative every single day that you were brought into this world & that I get to share this life with you. You’ve brought an immense amount of light & love into mine — and I know I speak for countless others that you have done the same for them. I love you so much.”
Katie reshared the tribute on her own Instagram and added to Nick, “I love you so much!!!”

Vanderpump Rules alum Ariana Madix joined Katie’s surprise birthday getaway as well, and Katie shared an update on their joint business, Something About Her sandwich shop, in March 2026. The West Hollywood eatery is set to mark its second year in business in May.
“It’s been wonderful to work into more online orders because I feel like we have so much business that we can do online,” Katie explained on the March 13 episode of the Gabbing with Gib podcast. “The same with catering.”
As far as the shop’s future, she added, “We’re really trying to work more into the catering. Just different things to get people excited coming in, doing limited runs on sandwiches. But it’s just a lot of fun.”
“We have a really wonderful community in West Hollywood. A lot of return, repeat customers, people in the neighborhood. I love a neighborhood restaurant vibe, so that’s been a lot of fun,” she concluded. “But I’m excited for the future.”
