The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills friend Kathy Hilton is revealing who called her in the middle of taping the RHOBH Season 15 reunion. Kathy got a phone call during Part 2 of the reunion while her youngest sister, Kyle Richards, was in the middle of telling an emotional story. And now Kathy is opening up about that moment when it was her husband, Rick Hilton, on the phone.
Kathy took the time to answer the call while cameras were up, saying “hello” to Rick, who was now revealed as the mystery person on the other end of the line. But, as Kathy explained to Vulture on Thursday, May 7, she had a very good reason for answering the phone. “It was my birthday,” she explained in a clip posted to Instagram. “And my phone was blowing up, blowing up, blowing up. And it was getting late. And we were supposed to drive down to the desert. And the dogs, the whole thing. So it was my husband.”
Because her phone kept ringing, Kathy told the publication that she had to answer it. She said, “And it kept beeping and without my glasses, so I just was like, ‘I can’t talk’.”

Although Kathy had a brief moment of interrupting her sister during Part 2 of the RHOBH Season 15 reunion, she did weigh in on Kyle’s issues with her estranged husband, Mauricio Umansky. Andy Cohen asked Kathy to weigh in on why Kyle and Mauricio had been “slow to file” for divorce, to which she shared her own theory. “I think maybe, like, it could be a little denial,” Kathy said.

Even with Kathy’s input, Kyle revealed that she and Mauricio have not had any reason to rush the divorce proceedings. “Once there’s someone, you know, that comes into either one of our lives, they’re gonna force our hand in that, you know, obviously,” she explained. “We haven’t felt that and needed to do that.”

Kathy spoke to The Daily Dish backstage at the reunion, where she confirmed that it was her birthday and she wanted her shiny silver reunion dress, designed by The Vampire’s Wife, to reflect the party vibe. “I am going for something that’s shiny and happy,” she said. “I wanted to wear something I could sit in and be comfortable. Comfort comes first.”
