Barbara “Barbie” Pascual is back on Bravo as the new stew on Below Deck Down Under Season 4, but this time around, she insisted that she’s a (somewhat) changed woman.
Upon her arrival on M/Y Katina in Episode 15, Barbie, whom Captain Jason Chambers hired to fill a vacancy left after he fired deckhand/stew Mike Durrant, admitted that her return to yachting was a bit of a “difficult” experience.
“My last season, technically, I quit,” the Below Deck Season 11 alum explained in a confessional. “After [my] last season, I self-reflected. My therapist deserves a raise. I’m still me, it’s just, like, more of a refined version of me. I try to think before I speak. Doesn’t always work.”

As Barbie, who is Elena “Ellie” Dubaich’s close friend, teased, “Coming into this season, since I’m late, I’m sure there’s already enough drama here. So, I’m gonna be a part of it, but I’m not gonna be the problem.”
Plus, the native of Argentina had no doubts about her ability to handle the work side of things anyway: “I know I’m really good at my job,” she added. “That’s something I’m sure of.”

Barbie Pascual revisits her and Fraser Olender’s drama on Below Deck Season 11
During Below Deck Down Under‘s May 11 episode, Barbie noted that Fraser Olender was the chief stew she previously worked with. “That was hard,” she recalled to a producer. “He hated me. But he was such a perfectionist, and he taught me so much.”
Barbie, who also had an ill-fated boatmance with Kyle Stillie during her previous season, offered even more intel on her and Fraser’s dynamic on the Below Deck Down Under After Show.Â

After noting that she, too, had been a chief stew twice already in her career, Barbie said, “I was, like, a little bitchy to him, and I was also as good as him. Like, he is the best chief stew, hands down. Like, the standards Fraser holds, it’s like perfect 24/7, every cabinet, every drawer, every laundry, everything.”
Prior to Barbie arriving, her new superior, Daisy Kelliher, actually texted Fraser to get the scoop on her. “I had some reservations,” Daisy explained on the After Show. “She clearly had some conflict with Fraser, and that is already a massive red flag.”
As for how Fraser responded, Daisy continued, “He literally just said, ‘We didn’t get on. It was a year ago.’ And she probably was gonna come in and be a bit of a lick-arse to me. You know, she didn’t want to make the same mistakes she did.” (In Episode 15, however, Daisy more bluntly told João Franco, “Fraser hated working with her.”)
Barbie, for her part, said on the After Show that it was “not a secret that Daisy and Fraser are besties,” but she still made it her goal to form a solid relationship with her new superior anyway. “I also had to suck up a lot to her,” she further remarked. “I had to bite my tongue. … I came in like a dog with their tail under.”
Though Barbie and Daisy got off to a positive start in their working relationship, the newcomer immediately clashed with second stew Jenna Woudberg, who admitted to feeling “jealous” when she and deckhand Eddy Hounsell appeared to be flirting with each other. You’ll have to stay tuned, however, to find out if they’re able to right the ship before the charter season’s end.
In the meantime, get exclusive details on what led to Mike’s firing that ultimately created the opening for Barbie to join Season 4 of Below Deck Down Under.
